ooh, now, where do I start?
Buying clothes I don't need, how many white tops does one person need?
Stockpiling Boots offers, eg I haven't had to buy any bubble bath, body lotion, shower gel, deodorant or soap for couple of years now!
To my utter shame I still have a stash of about 25 perfumes, the majority of which have matching body products.
I was a real sucker for the GWP items in department stores, Clarins one week, Estee Lauder the next, ooh I really couldn't wait for the Lancome one.
I have 50+ paperbacks I am waiting to read, my reading of actual books has virtually stopped since I got Internet access, that was in August 1997 and I took a long time to twig this!
I'm sure there are loads more!!
Great thread by the way!A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.
one life, live it!0 -
- CDs that I couldn't live without and then found I only liked 2 or 3 tracks
- keep fit equipment cos going to the gym was a pain
- exercise dvds cos using the keep fit equipment was boring.
- buying make-up, especially from Avon, 'cos I didn't like not to buy anything from the girl sat opposite me in work.
- buying more make up from Boots, 'cos the colours weren't right from Avon

Erm well here goes:
Sim free phones. I've owned aprox 25 of the things and I only got my first mobile 8 years ago.
Make up, make up, make up. Its in three make up bags and will only be used before the next millenium if I grow another face.
Magazines. Its a sorry state of affairs when you get to the newsagents and realise that you already have every (yes really) magazine for your age group.
Clothes, bags, belts, jewelery, shoes, shoes, shoes. Two double wardrobes groaning as I type.
Beauty products. I still have eleven bottles of shampoo in the bathroom. My cleanser cost £42, I can't type how much the moisturiser cost.
Basically I spent money on whatever took my fancy, no regard for the cost.

Oh I love this post! My list is much like other peoples and it could go on for pages.
I LOVE make-up, so when ever i was having a bad day at work Id pop to beatties and buy yet another juicy tube - how much lipgloss does a girl need LOL I was also a sucker for Channel nail varnish because they are so much better then superdrugs own - NOT.
Oh i also love handbags and own approx 7 LV ones - I could never sell them as they are all classic bags i use them and I know my collection will now never grow.
Take aways and eating out - at least 4 times a week £25+, marks and spencer food because its so much better?? My lunch at work would be £5 per day and Id always be the first person to buy a round of drinks at the pub for £18 but then leave after two drinks because i was driving.
I have a wardrobe full of clothes i dont fit into, all coast or monsoon.
When I was blonde i would only ever let toni and guy do my hair £100 every 10 weeks!!!
Costume jewellery from monsoon at £35 per necklace.
Oh and i love Kirt Guiger shoes, so when the sales were on Id buy anything in my size!
One of my biggest problems was everytime i went on holiday i wanted to ensure i could have what ever i wanted and as hubby is careful with money if he saw me buying things on my cc he would question if i needed it, so instead i would spend the week before we went away getting cash advances instead so that I always paid in cash infont of him, that way he thought it was out of my spending money.
OK ive confessed enough for now...more to come later.

Hiya,
- Keeping up with ex partner who earned 3 times more than I did - trying to impress, so therefore spending more than I had to keep partner happy.
- Comfort eating - and not cooking. i used to buy myself about 3 take - away pizza's a week (now I allow myself one a month).
There's probably more, but I can't think at the mo

Thanks for the ring cleaning tip - I am going to do that this morning!
Like many of you I was a 'mocha and copy of the Independant' on the train to work girl which at £2.50 every day is a bit ridiculous really. I now have a coffee before I leave the house from my stovetop Ikea espresso maker (present from my husband so not sure how much, but probably not too much and its absolutely genius), and the local paper have started giving away a free 'commuter edition' at the station - perfect timing.
I was also a stupidly overly generous tipper. I am not sure where this came from (possibly living in the states for a couple of years) but if a round at a bar came to £7 or more I would always let the bar staff keep the change from a tenner. Always added 20% to hair cuts etc, and once tipped someone £5 for a really painful £20 brazillian wax - why oh why?
Someone mentioned a £60 pound frying pan though and I must admit I love (and don't regret for a second) my Tri Vita pans and Sabatier knives but fortunately they all have a lifetime guarantee (and make bulk soup and stew cooking a pleasure!)0
