well the Betta living salesman was nicer than expected, although his quote was as usual 3 different levels, what is it with these people? lol

normal price £9k something, discounted price at £7k something, then buy now price at £5.2k something, what the heck? that's including fitting which was in the £2k mark

Ah well, nevermind... let's continue searching....

How far along those walls are you going with the arms of your 'C'? The full 441cm or less? And what sort of kitchen doors are you looking at? And what appliances? LOL!

Have you picked up a brochure from Howdens? They are giving us good prices at the moment and B&Q will also not only pricematch them but knock 10% off.

I think you can rip out the units yourself (If I can!) and fingers crossed get a recommendation for a kitchen fitter that doesn't cost 2k and you will pull your kitchen off for less than yesterday's best one day only price. ;)

My mum went to B&Q with her dimensions, etc, they priced up the kitchen (they have the computer design thingy too) and a local builder fitted it for her. Half the price of the Magnet 'all inclusive' quote.

My Mom and Dad used Wickes, again like B&Q, you go with your dimensions and no hard sell. Might be worthwhile doing this, even if only for a price comparison.

We found the kitchen we wanted - bought the cupboards we needed - much measuring and re measuring in between - priced and delivered - £320ish - fitted by local plumber - £180 - we removed the old kitchen fitments and help build the new ones - all done in one day!

if anyone quotes 9k then 5.8k then 4.3k, just show them the door.
they are using DG sales methods.

just buy your own units etc from BQ/wickes/howdens. and get a local fitter to fit them.
fitting should be approx 500/1000 quid in the manchester area.
    Get some gorm.

I have just had mine done with Moorgate kitchens in Bury. They quoted me an excellant price and the servicr and kitchen is gorgeous. I did get 4 quotes. Some of the others I went to seemed a bit sleazy.

the other 2 arms of the C are 270 and 210 cam respectively (210 being the one with the small window). Doors: budget is tight so we'll go with walnut vinyl, laminate worktops and brushed stainless steel appliances, handles and other bits

Yeah I realise I think the best option is to get units from howdens or similar (name has come up both on here multiple times) and also get a recommended fitter to do the work.

We do want to tile the floors too, redecorate the whole room and replaster the ceiling too, so maybe one day won't be enough :D

Appliances: again after a little digging, I found an online retailer called Onefit that have a good range and they seem cheap enough, again recommended by a friend.
