Bacon rind. Smells interesting and they have to pull it, which is all to the good in a traditional mouse trap.. Tie it down firmly to the bait position using fine wireHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I got told that sausage is really good to use as bait in traps0

It's great for use in man traps too. I've been caught in one a few times.

Dark chocolate. Works every time. The only problem is it can be difficult to secure in the trap. If it's not well secured the little devils can sneak off with it or worse still end up snared in the trap by their tail!Norn Iron Club Member 3300 -
No way am I wasting chocolate on a mouse...that's mine!! I've always sworn by peanut butter. If the trap doesnt get them there's always the chance they have a severe reaction and die of anaphylactic shock!0

We have rats!!!! I have not seen them (thank god as I petrified of them) or heard them but its a pretty noise house what with two teens and two dogs, but removed kick boards in the kitchen today and found droppings. I have OH come and check it out and he agrees it is. So I've contacted pest control to come and have a look, it an email system and I've not heard back as of yet.
I think I've found where they are getting in as their is a large hole between the wall and floor behind the cupboards, where the skirting board would have been.
Now I'm too scared to go into the kitchenI was going to ask OH to pop into get one of the electronic devices but I've read that if you already have an infestation these do not work. What are other peoples views of this and can you recommend any. As from reading the thread people have mixed experiences of these.

Me too want to know about these devices too.“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

Save your money, they don't work. I have three in my attic. Despite that, my wife brought this down from there the other day...
I suppose it could have been deaf. It is now.0 -
