  • Using a fancy spring style trap i caught four mice in a week in my kitchen but no sign now for over two weeks so hopefully thats the lot.
    WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
    Blimey what was that ?
    That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.
  • As feared when i posted the above i was tempting fate. Came home this morning to find the trap in the middle of my lounge carpet with mouse head still trapped in it, the rest of the body was strewn round the room.
I really don't think my cat understands her responsibilities.

  • As we live out in the sticks, the rats always head toward the buildings during the winter. We have one at the moment that sits outside our dining room window watching us from the windowsill - totally unafraid!
I made a drop-door trap couple of years back and one of the little !!!!!!s would stand in the doorway to stop it dropping whilst his mates raided the bait!
Think I might invest in an electronic deterrent this year as nothing else has worked so far - including poison and traps.

My dear next door neighbours "accidentally" knocked over my bird feeder while I was on holiday and didn't bother cleaning up, cue lots of seed all over my yard. Now a few days after coming back I've found a rat in my kitchen - not happy! :(

Have sent my Dad to the local B&Q to get traps & bait, hopefully that will work, will also check for the entry point and probably get one of the plug in devices too.

Thanks for all the good advice in this tread!

    Hiya Judders

Those mice of yours seem to be super-mice. Tough little beggars
I'm keeping the B+Q electronic plug in thingies plugged in. Fingers crossed - no further sightings or scratching noises. If it starts up again, then I'm going to get a big bad moggy :D

Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying
  • It was like an episode of a kids cartoon in my kitchen last night. Started to clean up where the furry !!!!!! had been using the hoover and it shot out from behind the fridge! Did contemplate whether I should try to suck it up but I'm hoping that as the back door was open it might have used its little brain and nipped off. Have put the bait down so will keep a look out.

Buy or borrow a Ferret and give it free run of the house for a few weeks, problem solved !
