cw18 - my children are 1, 3 and 5. I go for my first scan next Tuesday, I missed the dating scan as I was in denial about the pregnancy. My midwife thinks I am further on than 19 weeks but I have only seen her once.

Bless you aeb. We'll help you here.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

What a lot of grot is going on with the frugaleers at the moment! sft. what a shock it must have been to hear the tenants hadn't even been given notice yet, hopefully the time will pass quickly.
ram_murdock, s_c and aeb Hopefully things will improve for you all. I have to admit aeb your sense of humour amazes me and with that you will cope with everything I'm sure. I also had four children under 5 and a half and days are so terribly busy but if I could mange I'm sure you will. They are now 42,40, and 38 and are busy producing wonderful grandchildren for me. Number one daughter died in 1993 when she was 27 and she would have been 44 now but I still include her in my family as my memories of her will never go. I don't know how long it is since you lost your husband but because of what you have been saying I assume its fairly recent, life does feel better eventually believe me.
cha97m so pleased to hear about your friends baby, our children are such special little folk.
I may have forgotten some others frugal folk but hugs to you all anyway.
PS
I'd just gone to bed and was having bad thoughts about things I have written above so had to get up to edit it....I hope I haven't offended anybody, if I have I do truly apologize to you.
Good night or is it Good morning? Must go to sleep now.Keep to £400 a month on C/C.

Good morning frugalatons
Hopefully the sun is shining wherever you are and shedding a little light on any gloomy situations. I can only repeat what has already been said - many things are sent to try us and we all seem to have our own ways of coping, but cope we do and cope we shall continue to do!
It's now clouding over here, so best hurry up and get the washing out to beat the rain! Going to get more digging done, hopefully, and work out where I'm going to fit everything in so we don't starve later this year. I'm not paying those prices for veggies!
Catch up with you all soon.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

cw18 - my children are 1, 3 and 5.
They're definitely closer in age to my GDs than my children - it always amazes me that I have friends the same age (or a couple of years younger than me) who have children the same age as my grand-children
This includes my brother - he's 2.5yrs younger than me, but his elder son is 13 months younger than my elder GD, and his younger son is 13 months younger than my younger GD !! When you see the four of them together at family events it's easy to forget there's a generation gap between them :rolleyes2Cheryl0 -
ram murdoch my thoughts are with you losing friends is the pits
AEB you have so much on your plate with such young children and such a lot to do and you have no support network
is there a lets scheme in your area ?........perhaps you could get some of the work done though that
You've obviously heard of freecycle are you sure your getting all the money your entitled too and could you reduce your loan payments by explaining your circumstance to your lender
Have you had grief counselling it might help with the negativity about the pregnancy..............good luck at the scan
if your on means tested benefits you may be able to get a boiler through the warm front scheme

Hi Aeb,
Further to what shaz has said, this initiative by the NHS, may be of help. Extra income, through vouchers, for parents of qualifying children, under five, for healthy food.
http://www.healthystart.nhs.uk/
Also, when I was made redundant last year, I was able to get full membership for council sports centres/gyms/pools for children and self for £3.45 a month. This may be available in your area. Keeping active helped me keep positive. xx.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Welcome to aeb sorry to hear of your loss.
aeb - Have you looked into grants available to you for putting in solar power? Are you able to get a working party of friends and family together to do some work on the house for you, even if it’s just painting and stuff? If you don't mind posting what county you're in some of us may know of local grants and schemes that may help you.

Good morning everyone,
I'm still struggling away here, I'm in the shop today, so it is a good job I've got the internet to keep me entertained.
Looks like it's going to be really wet here today, the nice weather we had through the week was great, I got all my washing dried in no time and it was free.:D
Welcome to the thread Aeb, it sounds as if you've got a lot on your plate, but you'll get through. You've come to the right place as everyone on here is friendly and helpful. Sometimes, I forget that I have never met anyone face to face, in fact, I would not be able to get by without my internet friends for comfort and advice.:A
I wil be going to visit our leader some time during the summer, and I'm looking forward to it, a visit to frugaldom is just the job.:D
Not much to report this morning so will check back in later. xx0 -
Still here, still reading all your posts, still struggling to stay in control of my spending.
I had a NSD yesterday, am having one today and will aim for one on Monday. Freezer and cupboards crammed as usual, don't NEED anything so will try to spend very little for the rest of the month.
Off to the library this afternoon to find some "no spend" inspirational books. Any recommendations?" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."
