Just a small update from me
I've updated my totals, and things are looking pretty good so far. I've only spent £70.66 in May so far, which i think is alright! I'm going to Paris next saturday for 5 days, which I'm really excited for. I'm going with my mum, my aunt and my two cousinsshould be a laugh, and i can't wait to get out of my town for a while, away from my job
I have been reading through the thread, and seeing how everyone else is getting on.

Hi Everyone!!
Well the freecyclers are 2'/2 hours late! Going to wait until it gets dark then contact the next most deserving cause.
Got alot done today...My sister and partner turned up with a transit van (a case of who you know) and we filled it up and went to our storage unit twice. So alot accomplished. Feel much calmer now. We've just had a naughtly takeaway and are now sitting on camping chairs in our empty lounge.
Going to stay with my parents until we can move in...so Internet access will be limited (don't think I'll cope).
Up for the working party to aeb's house.expert at dealing with small children..all homework will be done and games played. DIY limited. Mr SFT will definitely be in the kitchen with Bails, keeping everyone feed and watered.I agree w ith everyone else aeb-what an amazing woman you are.
Take care all
SFT
Bails-Sorry about OH not getting those positions....but Nepal, Tibet, China etc..wow!!! You lucky thing. Have a great time in Sardinia..are you part of the crew too? x
SF-Enjoy Paris..just what you need and deserve. I'm sure it will give you a real lift. x

£4,000 a year? I make do on £50 a week, excluding rent\council tax, but including utility bills, travel of any kind and debt repayments.0

And I'd like to bet £50/week is just for you, so £2,600 a year for one person -- a lot of us are running families on this.....Cheryl0

poor aeb - we're going to be scaring her off with all our threats to descend en-masse and take over her house :rotfl:
Seriously, none of us would dream of turning up uninvited - but the offer this morning of helping you find out if you could qualify for any local grants (if you tell us your county) is a good one. People don't tend to know about a lot of these unless they've lived in the area a while, and some of what you've said (moving 200 miles from friends and family) indicates your a pretty new "incomer"Cheryl0 -
Hi frugalers
My! What a talented lot we have here! We could build an entire new Frugaldom village with the combined skills. Mine are a little limited, so I'd need to offer to help in the garden and looking after the livestock, although I can prepare CoW reports, snag lists, milestone payment schedules and status reports for construction with military precision if we need the US forces for anything. :rotfl:And I can bring some chickens, so we have fresh eggs for Bails & co preparing breakfast. Oh, and I can milk a goat
Everyone seems to be heading overseas! SM in Malta, SF to Paris, Bails to a multitude of oriental and exotic locations... you're a far-travelled lot, too! I haven't left the country in 25 years unless you count 2001-2004 spent in England!
KKP - nice of you to drop in, do share how you manage on your £50 as every penny well spent is worth a fortune to us here! My £4,000 is for 3 so, technically, that's only £25 per week per person.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Thats correct. But then I am used to that.
Sharing tends to save on some things (food for example), as opposed to several people on their own though. So £4,000 for say, 4 people doesn't sound that unreasonable, especially when utility bills and rent\mortgage\debt repayments are excluded. Assuming you had some excess assets or expenditure to begin with (I don't have a TV personally) its surprising what you can do to cut down to within the limit.0 -
