Hi Everyone!!
SM Any news yet?
Well we had a nice Sunday. Mum and Dad round for lunch. Dad shared a reduced Finest Steak Pie with Mr SFT and Mum and I had Waitrose Salmon en Courte (sp). So a luxury (but frugal lunch). Mr SFT makes the best roasties in the world. For desert we had Waitrose Lemon Cheese cake, with cream, ice cream and the last of the raspberries from the garden.
Then we went to the Bluebell wood which was just beautiful.
Afterwards popped over to the cottage to look around. Just opposite is a paddock/small stable and 2 lovely horses (dark and light). Refuse to show Mum and Dad around inside until the structural survey comes back ok.
Today at school went well. One of the teachers gave us a lovely wedding gift: a pair of candles decorated with Zulu beadwork, She is from Zimbabwe and has great taste.
Been for a nice walk with a friend this evening. Rather proud of that as its been drizzling all day.
Have a great evening everyone.

Tipping: I only tip for really good service. Agree with BB about not tipping in a cafe if someone has just carried over a plate.
As a student I worked as a silver service waitress. Back breaking work, holding a whole saddle of lamb (ie, on the bone) -portions for 20 people on a tray as you served it with your spoon and fork. Like SF it was in an expensive restaurant and the manager was only around to take the bills so we rarely got a tip. Shocking really but we were on very good money so that kind of made up for it I suppose. Frugal Living 2010 member MFW by 2014 Was 88,000 now £46,877.90 Grocery Budget for Dec-April=£173.72/£244 (Groc Budget 2010 from Ebay/Voucher savings/Quidco -If we can do it will save our £980 GC budget) Now living the dream -in our tiny country cottage-all thanks to MS forums. x 39 2 go

Good evening to all and appropriate responses to everyone. Mumzy, I hope you are happy, look after yourself and try to quit the smoking
Today began as a miserable, wet morning and then suddenly the sun came out and it's been glorious, warm and very springlike. We'd to make a mercy dash to friend at the farm when they uncovered another hen in the barn, so I now have a total of 5 plus next door's Pekin cockeral! This new one, however, I didn't leave with any eggs, as I'd prefer she started laying and helped provide us with breakfast. Hopefully, that will be 3 laying, 1 with a brood of chicks and 1 still sitting one eggs.
Had a rather hectic morning followed by a more leisurely afternoon. Lunch was salad sannies with homegrown, freshly picked lettuce. Pity the tomatoes aren't ready! The washing dried quickly and I even managed to get the new veggie plot planted up with Maris Pipers.
Spreadsheet updated to reflect stockpiling on sugar and the non-challenge spending (pets, vets, livestock, garden & misc.)
SL - you mean to tell me you're not visiting until/unless SM's here? :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.

Hi
I have been watching from the sidelines and am so impressed by people's frugal ways. I am not ready to fully join but have started making a note of all of my spending. I have started growing some of my own food, small tomato plants and pepper plants are on the windowsill. Rhubarb in the garden and I have just planted a braeburn tree at the weekend. I would love chickens but the deeds don't allow us to have them, so I must just look at the lovely pictures.
I feel I know some of the regulars so I hope you don't mind me joining in.

My lips are sealed, I don't know anyone called SM, never met the woman, never heard of her, what you all talking about? When you coming back down this way, anyway?
