I am liking the potential of that cottage Nyk
I'd love to come up and have a look round...maybe I'll send my folks as they're on their way to Scotland, currently in the Lakes.
The Lonely Planets for Nepal and Tibet arrived today :j so I've been getting ridiculously excited about all we can do out there. Bearing in mind it's prob 4 years out of date (new version due in Sept ), you could get a 4 bed apartment for US$100- 200 a month so we should be fine on the accommodation frontMy camera is fixed and ready for collection now - with that and my new camcorder I hope to bring some beautiful images home with me (they'll be especially useful when bogged down in school paperwork
). I'm going to invest in a wide-angle lens for the panoramics and also a photography course if I can find a decent one, as I want this to be a real focus of my trip. We'll probably do a blog so you'll be able to check out what we're up to
I don't have access to anyone's 1001 blogs so can you please post them up again (except the one I saved yesterday, was that Pips Mum?). I need to look into it properly and have a think about what to put on my list....
I had more to say from catching up earlier but can't remember now  Michelle, those stats aren't surprising but are sad to read. Glad to hear you sound a little better today x
I really really must get on with some things tomorrow, I've been spedning far too much time having fun :rotfl:I'm going to work hard tomorrow morning after walking the dog and then reward myself with going into town to pick up (and pay for ) my camera and browse some new lensesSo if you catch me on here, shout!
Have a great evening all, I'm off to walk the dog again in the beautiful sunshine and then tidy the bedroom and camping stuff - honest! The LPs will not get in my wayThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Good news and it is good news is that we have finally exchanged. Hurrah!
Bad news and well I'm going to be honest with you..and I am by nature a pessimist..I don't think we'll get the keys tomorrow.
We found out today that one of our bank transfers wouldn't reach the solicitors by tomorrow so managed to rush to the bank after school to get amount transferred over another way (the original 2k will still arrive there on Monday so I hope we get that back) which may not get there until end of banking day tomorrow..which will be too late for the solicitors. So Monday will be a rubbish day for me as I can't get time off school and will feel a bit frustrated not being able to sort things out.
(There is a chance the money will get through but as I said I'm a pessimist)
I am very disappointed but at the same time can at last look forward to living in the cottage (don't know why but had a bad feeling that people..i.e. ordinary....like me don't end up living the dream..looks like we will now. Wow!

SFT - good news about the exchange, hooray! Hope you get the keys soon :-)
H2B is currently tickling new cat under the chin and she looks very happy - pleased to say he does too. She's a very cute cat, just have to keep our fingers crossed for good results from her tests tomorrow.
Edit - aah, how sweet. She's now curled up on his lap.Live on £11k in 20110 -

Whatever the outcome Lynda, she's in a loving home now. H2B has clearly fallen in love with her already.

SFT - :T:j:T On the exchanging (is that the English equivalent of conclusion of missives?) But boooooooto the annoying transfer timings. I take it 2nd payment via CHAPs or a Faster Payment? I'll keep my fingers crossed for it turning up in time...
Lynda - do we get a pic of the new kitty? Fingers crossed for a good outcome on the tests.Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

I think so..but not sure..Mr SFT told me that we would both have to pay 10% of price of property if either party pulled out so I feel confidently that we've got the cottage now-when the money goes into vendor's account we have completed. Then we can move in not sure when but should be next week. How does that compare to Scotland?

I am up to 21 on my 101 list...I'm thinking there are too many great things to put on it and will need to narrow it down to truly amazing things
I'm enjoying making the list! I think I will do a blog once I've completed it. I may borrow some good ideas from other people's lists too.

Evening all,
Just checking in as I have not posted much over the last couple of days but have still been reading.;)
Frugal activities include: picking up more whoopsies when at the supermarket tonight, (had to do shopping as DH home for weekend). I got 12 warburton$ rolls for 22p, I halved these with mum.
I also got two packs of turkey mince for 78p each, so I am going to do turkey burgers with one of the packs tomorrow night. The other one is in the freezer for another day.
My shopping should have been £22, but I had some luncheon vouchers from surveys which brought it doen to £10. That will never beat my big spend of 52p the other night when I left with 4 bags (3 of them full of carrot batons).:rotfl:
I know I've not got many batch meals left in the freezer, but I've still got quite a bit of stuff lurking around. I'll maybe get another couple of weekends out of what I've got before I need to go to costco and start all over again.
Hope everyone is well, sophiesmum, I hope that you and OH are feeling okay.
Speak later. xx0
