That has to be a send up, almost half a million for that when I could have THIS and £25,000 change to buy a few acres of woodland. No competition, prices are completely mad 'down south'. :rotfl: :rotfl:
Wow Nyk, I'm moving to wherever you are if you can get that for 1/2 million!! I'm only going to be looking at 110k, and that gets a 2 bed (if you're lucky!) house round here. But imagine what I could get near you!Make £2025 in 2025 #18 - £569.66/£2025

Hi Pip's Mum, don't worry about being in lurkdom and not having the time to write things down. Lurkdom is like Frugaldom suburbia when you're still being cash conscious.
I've lost all track of my day to day electricity meter readings and my spendingdiary.com has gone to the dogs. My spreadsheet is the mainstay of my budget and homelife/garden has taken top priority, so worry not, just enjoy being able to afford to plan how you spend your cash and your time most wisely and then fit us in whenever you can. We ain't goin' anywhere far from here.
Pauper, I lived in Suffolk for a few years until 2004, it's a brilliant place with some spectacular properties and some really beautiful thatched cottages. Loved it down there but it is a bit flat and absolutely chaotic when the snow fell. I couldn't believe how many accidents there were as soon as the snow started to fall. But living there has given me so much to talk about in my old age, it was well worth it.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hi Thrifty, why not call up the repair man and ask how much the call out will be and, in the meantime, open up the machine and check that it isn't just the belt that's snapped. If it is, then mine only cost about £4 to do a DIY repair, I bought the belt on eBay, just search for your machine model number.
Thanks, I checked the belt, sorry should have mentioned earlier. So according to other forums it's not really DIY-fixable. I think a new one is due. Even a £50 or 100 in repair isn't worth it and BF agreed. But with my frugal skills learnt here I should find a bargain. Plus some companies do free delivery and recycling now.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
I understand that taxpayers money is keeping you in rolling tobacco
That same tobacco that itself has a whopping 450% tax hike?
So they are actually getting about £8.75 back off me on a £11.25 packet.
Justify that if you can. Plus I did actually work for 13 years straight paying my taxes. I am not making excuses for being on the dole but some people have not lifted a finger in their lives and live that way by choice.
Whichever way you cut it, they are scamming us every which way.
No wonder BNP got a seat in Europe (no I don't agree with that, its terrible)0 -
Evening everyone,
I've been trying ever so hard to be good, it is working to a certain degree. I have started writing out my 101 things to do challenge, I'm at no. 60. I have started one of the tasks, to get more exercise, so I walked round a local park twice tonight with one of my sisters. It was very pleasant, and not a penny left our purses as it was free.:T
I've been racking my brains to think of what I would like to do, and every now and again, something else pops into my brain. I really hope that I can do it, it's a sort of aim to tick all of the boxes you would like ticked off, and gives you a mechanism to trigger you into action instead of leaving unfinished projects hanging around everywhere.
Another task is to get a better job, so surely that will be ticked off long before the 1001 days are up.
I am tired and have to be up early, so off I go for another mooch around before I go to bed. nite xx0 -
I am doing the 101 list too Skintlynne I am thoroughly enjoying it, it is making me do things that I have put off for ages, things I am scared of, things Ive always wanted to do but never found time to and things that will make me a better person.
Here is my blog if you are interested x x x

Thanks pips mum,
I'll have a look before I log off, hope pip is doing well. xx
Edited in: I've just had a quick look at your book list and Anne of Green Gables is on there. My gran came from PEI in Canada, where Anne of Green Gables came from, I have been to that house, when I was small. I think it was the house of the lady that wrote the book. Another thing for my list is to get that book and read it again. Thanks again Pip's Mum. xx0 -

Apologies, I thought you were a stroppy teenager just finished school and out of sorts from not getting a job when you said you were at home paying dig money. Me and my jumping to conclusions! I was sat here thinking, well, if he was one of mine... :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.
