Many moons ago, my Landlord hadn't paid his mortgage. The bank did write to me telling me I have 4 weeks to get out (and informed me the mortgage hadn't been paid for a year!). The bailiff was really nice when he turned up, apologetic that the landlord had done what he had done but I still had to go!
I was a single Mum working part-time back then, so was claiming some housing benefit - no letting agent in the town would take me on. I ended up in a council homeless hostel but eventually was given a council house - was very lucky to get that.
Anyway - my tale is of no importance. Go and get the letter! You need to know whats going on.0 -
Deep breath. Sit down with a cup of tea. Open the letter. I would start packing now if you can and prepare to leave before the three week deadline. Far better to be prepared just in case they try to evict you before your three week wait is up.0

The letter might have the location of Joanna Southcott's Box inside which would then give you another dilema; should you open that?0

Now I am showing my age and had to look that up.
Just so there is an end to this story and it doesn't disappear into the abyss, we picked up the letter and it was.....
None of the above.
It was another fixed charge notice from another company, trying to assess if there are people occupying the property. It was from someone else acting on behalf of a building society. Very very odd. Not a name that we have been dealing with before. Seeing as the place is being sold this week, they may be a bit late!
Thanks for all your input.0 -

How frightening to receive a letter :rotfl:Thought processes can be managed positively, so that they help you to achieve what you want, rather than hindering your judgement.0 -
I am so scared of receiving letters that I have turned my letterbox around. Postie now thinks any mail is for him and he leaves me alone...........I think
Unless it is one of those silly scams how can you not collect a letter like that? I would definitely want to know what it was0 -
