Support for people with Depression

Keep trying with the CAB, cozza. Its well worth getting their help and support. I think it makes a difference to whoever makes the decision if they know you have someone on your side too.
I feel old now Ive read your conversation, Shazza and Miro! I still have my complete record collection from when I was a child and teenager. Theres mainly singles but I have some 70's disco albums, as well as Grease, Saturday Night Fever! My oldest record is Long Haired Lover from Liverpool by Jimmy Osmond and the last one I ever bought I got from Woollies and is "This is It" by Dannii Minogue! I have quite a few singles from the 80's.
My depression stops me getting so much enjoyment from music though. I have to have some drinks otherwise most songs make me cry for some reason.0 -

Oh yes Cozza, always try and get some support. Even if you ring out of hours (in the middle of the night) and leave a message for them to get back to you.
Long Haired Lover From Liverpool :rotfl:I have some Dannii stuff somewhere. Loved her when I was at school. Not listened to her in years and don't intend to go back :rotfl:
I don't listen to much music apart from Britney and a select few other songs that are around. They don't make them like they used too. These days they chuck anything in songs to make them a cheap sale, and I don't mean cheap as in £'s.0 -
Hi guys!
Afternoon all - how's us on this beautiful Monday afternoon? Can't you just hear sazzy singing away at her desk, so happy to be back at work after a lovely relaxing week away with the gilly badgie?
Welcome home guys.
Right that's your lot as far as any Tiffy bounciness goes today. Think I've got a flat. (Don't say it, sazzy!) It's been so humid and uncomfortable and you can't rest properly at night.
If I don't get more than two and a half hours sleep very soon, somebody could get hurt!
Actually, maybe there is hope for the day after all - we've just had 75 seconds of rain here! Now if I go food shopping to Asdaland - it's like Disneyland, but for poor people and agoraphobics
- then it'll pour down, just like it does whenever I go out. Why didn't I think of that sooner?! And we are guaranteed some decent sleep soon, guys...it's nearly time for Wimbledon!
Ooooh - we got thunders now and another two minutes of rain! I love thunderstorms.
Nope, don't like it. This post is turning out to be far too positive!
Let's see now ...sazzy...work...Mondays, (& Tuesdays & Wednesdays & ...)...Hmm.....
Now tell me that's not true!Loves you sazzy.
I'd just like to say hang in there to bry, h, katie-tulip, gem, hearts and cozza - I'll pop down to the Tiff archives later and see what I can dig up. Replies overdue for our beth and miro and ccstar too. I've got a bit of reading back to do here but I'll be back as soon as I can - don't want to post any thoughts that aren't of any use. I am thinking of you all.
Anyhoo, I won't hold you good folk up any longer. As thread cat, and otherwise being unemployed and having no anklebiters to worry about, I think I'll just pop off and and grab a myself a very large catnap. Purely to fulfil one of my duties, of course.
Be kind to yourself, guys.
Much Love,
Tiff xxx"If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought." ~ by Peace Pilgrim.***'You just got Tiffed!'***0 -
Hi cb2!
How are you, angel? I didn't want you to think I was ignoring your posts hun.
It's just that I'm trying to put the house back together and it just ends up as me moving one pile of stuff from one place and putting it down in another place. I'm thinking of trying to pass it all off as art - well if that Tracey Ermintrude or whatever her name is, can put a messy room on display as art, why can't I?!:D
Having said that, I still haven't even finished taking the house apart. What I need is a makeover show called something along the lines of, ''Honey, I Broke The House!'' But they'd have to provide me with the Honey as well though.
*No miro, not that kind of honey.*:D
It's always lovely to see your posts angel - I hope Dr.cb2 made it home safe and sound and that you got to spend some quality time together. You're both a pair of very clever and busy bunnies. I wish I had your stamina.
I thought your post about visiting China was so interesting, as your posts always are.Actually, I'm quite interested in things like social and cultural history, anthropology, folklore, sociology aaaaand catnip! The sheer variety of cultures and lifestyles among our species is amazing - and we all think we've got the best one.
And you know hun, it is an inspiration hearing of what you and your DH get up to - you both grasp every opportunity and you love your travelling. Your hubby has done amazingly well with his studies and you're right hunnie, it's never too late to make something of our lives. If we all hit our prime at the same time, (I'm hoping it'll be something like 50 - I think I'm a late starter!), then it would be a boring old world. How can we judge when we're in our prime until we've run the whole race, as it were? Your thoughts reminded me of a quote by John Ruskin...''There is no wealth but life.''
And before you all start throwing tomatoes at me for all this early Monday afternoon philosophy, I do know it's sometimes a lot harder for us on here. Depression shouts every possible negative thought it can find at us, that's the nature of the illness.
But that doesn't mean we can't find any of those moments of time that bring us any kind of happiness, or peace of mind or success in various ways, or that these things won't come in the future. I read the stories of people here and I'm amazed.:A Don't ever give up, guys. Maybe you're survivors for a reason...
Okay, enough of the Mystic Tiff stuff- sorry clippie, I digress.
I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your posts and the time you give to others, and that you're a very special cb2.
Here - have a hug!

I haven't been on here for a while. I've been taking fluoxetine since last September and I have to say, I am a different person! Nothing has particularly changed in my life, personally.
Just wanted to offer some hugs to those that need them and to say, hang in there.... it does get better x0 -
Hellooooo! I'm back!:D Yes, as reported by Tiffy, me and the badger had a fab time. Wish it was longer tho:rolleyes: And it's so nice to be back at work. Not! LOL Tiff you have no idea how right you are with that cat pic! Voicemail is a wonderful thing...:rotfl:
And do I get a prize for being the least brain-celled and most boring person here?:D
Frames1 - thanks for the update and great to hear you're feeling better :j
Better get back to work. Catch you later peeps
Much love to all,
