Hi guys!
Hey everyone, how are we?
Enough of the small talk. What I really want to know is, who broked tinternet to the forums yesterday? Martin had to close it all down for maintenance. I strongly suspect there may have been an ulterior motive...
Thank goodness, normal service has now been resumed. I s'pose it'd be a good idea to rally the clan. Yes I know it's not even 7am but serves you right for forgetting the catnip!
Right then, let's be having you... ready cara?;)Huge, moulting Tiffy hugs to...

Hi guys!
I WANT SNOW!!!
It reached 25 degrees here yesterday. It's all right for you guys, but there I was with my fur coat on!I was a slightly over-heated and tiffed off Tiff. Being blonde, I always end up doing the lobster thing when in the hot sun so I try to avoid it. It was so humid too. Bearing this in mind, I took all necessary precautions with my personal hygiene - so I can't quite understand why it was just me and the lovely sazzy on here yesterday?
I used deodorant and everything!
Hopefully though, the good weather has lifted our moods a little and all you sun-worshippers were off enjoying your day. Make the most of it though because it's nearly sazzy's favourite time of year - Wimbledon - and you all know what that means!
As usual, I'll start anywhere I feel like, and I thought I'd start the day with a little practical tiffing. MIND is a great resource and I was doing some catching up for the Tiff archives when I came across this...
MIND wrote:The problem with prescription charges On 1 April 2009 the prescription charge was increased to £7.20 per item.
Every year, 800,000 people in England and Wales fail to get some or all of their prescriptions because they simply can not afford the cost. Research shows that 38 per cent of those with severe mental health problems have to decide between paying household bills and paying prescription charges.
80 per cent of people aged between 18 and 60 have to pay for their medication. The burden of prescription charges can leave people distressed and unable to manage their condition.....
......Getting rid of prescription charges for people with long term mental health conditions would increase access to vital treatment. This could improve recovery, reduce financial stress and ensure that any accompanying physical illnesses are treated properly. Mind calls on the review panel to recommend that all those who experience mental health symptoms over a period of six months or more should be exempt from all prescription charges.
We've seen posts about this on this thread and when money's as tight as most of us find it to be, even out of a recession, we can be sorely tempted to skip or reduce a med and this can be devastating to our mental and physical health. Many of us are at the bottom of the financial ladder because of our mental health problems - finding a paying, flexible job and being well enough to do it, can be very difficult for us and every penny counts. Thankfully, MIND and MSE Martin are working together on resolving debt and mental ill health issues .
MIND have joined a petition to support these changes and, if you agree, you can show your support for this too by signing the petition here:

Talking of meds and the hot weather though, please remember guys that certain meds may remove most of your resistance to the sun's effects. If you are on certain benefits and you need to have suncream to protect you because you're on certain meds, you can get sunblock/sunscreen cream on prescription.
I hope these points were of interest and helpful. I know - so unlike me!
Be kind to yourself guys.

Hope everyone is okay.
Some short brief replies. PC is working, kind of. Keeps freezing on me, but sooner that than not work at all. Think the Hard Drive is about to give up ghost and then i'm done for
So brief replies, don't be offended if I dont reply/don't give thanks, as the less I do, the less times I have to reboot and start a frozen reply again!0 -
Hi miro!
A longer reply coming soon hunnie - I'm so glad you're posting. If you'd like me to do some tiffing re your benefits situation miro, I'm more than happy to do so.
Just put up some info for me, okay hun?
Is this what you meant, angel?
Be kind to yourself sweetheart.
Much Love,
Tiff xxx
Tiff
I have my medical on Wednesday. Not alot can be done tbh. If I fail, I really don't know what i'm going to do. If I pass, then at least I have a fighting chance, albeit a very poor financial one.
Nice hair accessorie. Brings out the best of your cheekbone structure0
