  • Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather. Had a few busy but lovely days, was my birthday the other day and just been out and about, went to to Toby Carvery and ate way, way too much. my mood is def better - having leave from work obviously helps, and don't feel anxious about going back tomorrow.

Only downside is my brother and his family stuck in Spain, they were due back Thursday. They are booked on a flight on Tuesday, if they can't fly then its fully booked until a week Tuesday.

Hugs to all that need them, take care xx

I've been Money Tipped! Chutzpah Haggler
Hello everyone, please can I join in?, I have suffered depression in the past and been hospitalized twice a long time ago, but for the past few years been absolutely fine, until I lost my mum which is 2 years ago this week. Since then I feel like my life is slowly crumbling and I don't know what to do about it.

We moved to be nearer my parents 2 years ago then my mum died when we had been here only 6 weeks. Since then I spent the first few months supporting my dad but he has since met someone else and turned his back on me and the rest of the family which is very hard to deal with.

I am now at a point where I am a manager in a demanding job that I hate, struggling to be a good mum to my 2 lovely kids and I am looking at my life and wondering what it is all about, apart from my husband and kids I have nothing, I have no friends and nothing to look forward to, I have spent the entire weekend sat in the conservatory, not seen or spoken to anyone (hubby at work) and then I am back at work tomorrow, its been a waste of 2 days off. My life is all work and being at home. I feel so sorry that my kids have ended up with me as their mum.

I am hoping to get some support from here and hopefully might be able to offer a shoulder at times too

    good afternoon everybody
hi katie, (((hugs)) hope the depressive mood passes quickly
hi twinklebelly, glad to hear you are feeling better, belated birthday wishes hun. me and my kids love toby carvery too, especially the kids as they can keep going back for more yorkshire puds and veg lol
milliemonster, hi and welcome to the thread, of course you can join us. sorry to hear about the loss of your mum, that must be so hard to deal with, especially with it been an anniversary of that sad time too. shaem your dad has turned his back on you too.
but on the positive, you have a loving partner and kids, who need you, and love you. have you been to see your gp about how your feeling, he may know of support groups that you can meet in person, or prescibe meds to help you deal with this bad patch.
this thread has been very supportive, and helped me during my darkest times, and i hope you find the same.

well after a really rough time with kids yesterday, i have laid down some new ground rules at home. its hard at times being on my own with them, and no help or support, they take advantage of me, cos they so big and strong, but today i'm feelign more positive and in charge.
today we talked about compromise, and how everyones needs need to be met, not just one persons all the time. then we went for a lovely walk in sun (danny loves walking), to shoe shop, (i love shopping) then went to subway, (josh loves eating all time lol)
    hugs all

Red devil my daughter suffers from panic attacks and anxiety. She sees a pychologist which has been very helpful but we pay for it, but she is on the waiting list for CBT on the NHS. What she finds helpful is to focus on a pleasant thought, so she will always think about our cats as a distracting tool. She gave up sixth form last year as she had missed so much, wasn't able to get on the bus or tube or go out the house on her own much. But now she is working and planning to go back to sixth form in September. She hasn't had a panic attack for months and rarily feels anxious, so it can get better!
She found the book Overcoming Anxiety For Dummies very useful.

Thanks feeling abit better now and hope it lasts. Was meant to be going on holiday this week but for obvious reasons cant fly. Never mind hope to go soon.
