Red devil my daughter suffers from panic attacks and anxiety. She sees a pychologist which has been very helpful but we pay for it, but she is on the waiting list for CBT on the NHS. What she finds helpful is to focus on a pleasant thought, so she will always think about our cats as a distracting tool. She gave up sixth form last year as she had missed so much, wasn't able to get on the bus or tube or go out the house on her own much. But now she is working and planning to go back to sixth form in September. She hasn't had a panic attack for months and rarily feels anxious, so it can get better!
She found the book Overcoming Anxiety For Dummies very useful. Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

Hi all, I hope everyone has had a good day, I've been lurking on the forum all day, taken me hours to actually post something
It's nice to see the sunny weather, although I've been cold all day, probably more to do with my diabetes though.
I think we're off to get a Chinese later, or at least go out for a drive.
Take care everyone,

hi alison, had a lovely holiday, the boys were really well behaved, the only downside was falling out with the friend i went with. its her loss really, as she was being childish. i kept the children up late so we could drink, and with the early mornings, had to get up early for breakfast, before coach took us on trips, the kids got tired.
on the last night, they were tired, and one had headache, so i took them up to bed at ten, and she accused me of spoiling her last night. nobody made her go up at the same time. incidentally had to be up at 6am this morn, as we had to have cases ready to go on coach at 7, so 10pm was late enough anyway.
i think the poster IAN. is my ex ian, he started posting on here the same day, that i sent him a last email, saying if he didnt leave me alone, i'd contact the police.
cant prove anything tho, so am not replying much on thread, see if he
a, gets bored
b, or turns out to be a totally different person, by same name.
sorry for long post, suppose i needed to get it off my chest
love shaz xxxxenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0 -
Don't apologise for the length of the post. I'm sorry about your ex friend, but like you say, her loss.
I hope this guy Ian turns out to be someone different, I would hate to think he's here upsetting you.
I'm glad you enjoyed you holiday though, it's just so nice to get away isn't it.
We're going to Crete in June, I'm looking forward to it, but dreading it as well, scary stuff being away for 2 weeks, but I know it will work out ok.
Take care,

sure you'll have a fantastic time in crete.
me and the boys are going to skegness for a week at may half term, and hoping to book a week in scotland for august.
love holidays, never been away for more than a week at a time tho.
worse thing is all the washing when you get back
shaz xxxenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0 -
Oh the washing! And it always rains for days when we come home. lucky our family have grown up so it's just me and the O/H so washing should be a minimum.
Good to see you've got a few holidays planned, we only go once a year, this one will be special though, 25 years of marriage, although we lived together for a few before.
I could have done a couple of life sentences by now though :rotfl:

hi all,
Shaz, hope you're ok and this Ian is not your ex. If he is then thats really disturbing! People come on here for support, and even when they are not posting (ie, me!) still read the messages and can relate to all of them. So for some stalkerish type to feel it necessary to join in just makes my skin crawl.
.. rant over..
Apart from that, I've had a quiet childfree week to myself. My aunt took my son away for the week oop north - to give me some time to myself, and also to spoil him rotten lol. It was nice, and chilled and I actually felt my bingeing was calming down a little. I made lovely wee meals for myself, like a goats cheese twice baked souffle (YUM) and tried not to overeat. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not. But I felt peaceful within myself. I've been signed off work for next week too, and am looking forward to spending the remainder of the hols with my wee boy because I missed him sooo much when he was away. Although the peace and quiet was nice, I missed his chatter and cuddles.
Hope everyone enjoys the weekend
