red devil, please go back to your doctor if you are still having difficulties. Im sure you should see a difference by 16 days, although everyone is different. Your doc may try upping your dose or may have an alternative for you.
I had to go and see the nurse this morning for a contraceptive prescription. By the time she called me in I was in tears and couldn't stop crying. It was awful. There is nothing going on to make me weepy and its a lovely sunny day. She was very sympathetic and I told her it was because I had reduced my dose of anti-d's. She immediately got me in to see the doctor (I only had to wait half an hour and sat in the car trying to pull myself together). Im sure the people in the waiting room thought I had been given bad news when I came out crying!
The doc has given me a prescription for another anti-d which I can start taking straight away. I think my present anti-d is giving me diarrhoea, which is why I was decreasing the dose. Im so relieved he was able to give me an alternative. I can't keep crying every time I leave the house.
So it is well worth going back to your doctor, red devil. Don't just suffer - its what they are there for.0 -
thanks bb he has upped the dose. its really horrible i am not right and am due to go abroad soon so scared i wont be alright for that either. Maybe it will help though. keep thinking how much of this can my brain take.
i am sorry about yopur crying i have to say thats one thing i havent had yet crying just panic inside my head, sleppless nights and loss of appetite. worrying thats enough though and worrying silly.

Some days my thoughts are overpowering, these are the scariest days I have, it's like they are the only thing I can concentrate on, I daren't drive and luckily I don't have anybody who is dependant on me.
It's impossible to block them out although I do try to do something else to preoccupy my mind, such as writing my shopping lists, re organising my clothes etc. It's a waste of time reading and I would never cook on these days either.
I'm still to find what works best for me, I hope you find a way of coping with yours soon.

I echo going back to your GP, red devil.
I'm not sure if they could refer you on to someone who can help you develop coping mechanisms, so that your anxiety is kept under control, or whether drugs alone will help do that, but definitely worth a visitThere is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. I agree. I don't have particularly bad thoughts myself but this morning when I was in the doctor's waiting room, waiting to see the nurse I felt as though I was going to burst into tears and started to panic. I walked across the waiting room and rifled through the magazines trying to concentrate on the different articles. This helped, although I started to cry once the nurse called me in. Its horrible to feel so upset when theres no reason for it and its humiliating too.
I would say to try and preoccupy your mind, red devil, as alison says. I personally find it hard to concentrate on reading too but anything that takes your mind away from the thoughts can only help. Best wishes.0 -

I struggle when there are other people around because I don't want them to think I'm ignorant.
My O/H is used to it, I always feel safe when he's home, I am fortunate to have such a good man by my side.Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before0 -
*hugs* to all that need/want one. Anxiety is terrible but for those that are suffering hang in there and Citlopram does take awhile to kick in,can't hurt going back to the doc though.
