Hey there sweetheart - nice to see you. Sorry your break didn't go as well as planned.sLo_hug2.gif

It seems a couple of us may be having a rough day today. So let's cut to the chase, shall we hunnie? People not doing their jobs can wait for another post - today's is about you and your family.wink.gif

evening all, had few days away at weekend, got back yesterday, the break was spoiled by joshua's temper tantrums, each and every day, have asked CAAMS for another assessment on him, as it s wearing us all down, lucky Ian has gone to the pub with his mates tonight, as he needs a break from it all. police have served me with a summons to appear as a witness against my son daniel in court tommorrrow.
still no support from the kids social worker, another socail worker from intensive support team, has tried contacting her on my behalf with no success, so next tiem he visits he is going to help me fill in a complaints form.
dreading court am scared cos i have trouble speaking up in front of groups of people.

miro, sorry to hear things still arnt going too well for you at the moment.
have you talked to your gp about the aggression?, it could be a sign of stress or depression.
    hugs

If you weren't nervous shaz, then I'd be very worried. Anyone should be nervous going to court, hunnie. Try not to worry too much - they will understand how difficult this is for you and will do their best to put you at ease there. If there's anything you don't understand, don't be afraid to ask them about it.

It's bound to be very emotional angel and you might find that you manage the court session fairly well but then fall apart afterwards. Again this is understandable. A couple of tips - sorry for stating the obvious...

    - take a couple of headache tablets before you go. You're likely to get a headache from any stress or upset and taking them before you go might help ease it before it grabs hold. I always do this and it stops me from getting even worse pounding headaches.

    - bottle of water - a necessity! It's something to hold and that kind of 'grounds' you when you're anxious. It's a good distraction technique and saves you from fiddling with things and/or trembling so much. Stress and upset may suddenly leave you with a very dry mouth so at least you know you'll be prepared and have something to take care of that.

    - carry enough tissues to act as a flood barrier - another essential. Hopefully you won't need them, but again you'll be prepared just in case.

    - fill the kettle and set out cups with tea/coffee/sugar in them, ready for when you get home. I know it's a little thing but it helps me get that all important calming cuppa just that bit quicker.

    - when you arrive, don't be shy in asking for somewhere quiet to sit while you wait if that's what you'd prefer.

    - you can usually find a Witness Support Services worker at court to ne there for you and to support you just by being there. This is a branch of Victim Support and is open to prosecution and defence witnesses. They cannot discuss any part of the case nor speak in court but they can help with the more practical things. Here's a couple of links hunnie...

I know you're very stressed shaz but hang in there - you're doing the right thing. I think you've known inside that this time would come eventually and this could get daniel more help. You may be classified as giving evidence against daniel but actually sweetheart, you're giving evidence for him. I know I've touched on this before but you have to do what's right for daniel and joshua and yourself. It's all about keeping everyone safe and protected - and that includes daniel.wink.gif

I know you won't agree, but I think you're a very strong and courageous person. I'm very proud of you, as we all are I'm sure. The wonderful way you look after your two boys under such extreme circumstances is admirable. angel-smiley-002.gif
Today's hearing will pass, as will the morning, the afternoon, the evening and the day. You will get through this, shaz. So today angel, be strong when you can be and when you can't, we're all here for you regardless. sLo_hug2.gif Let us know how you get on - good luck angel.
Keeping you in my thoughts hunnie. sLo_hug2.gif
