  • I'm sorry. =/
I'm just having an off period. I've been having an off period for the last month or two.
I just feel like such a failure. I'm supposed to be happy. I have an awesome fianc!. That should make me the happiest girl in the world, right?

I'm still waiting on an appointment from the mental health team to find out who my care co-ordinator is going to be. With every day that goes by and no letter lands on the doormat, I just feel forgotten about, even though I know that they are super busy and it's not personal.

I've been having a lot of health problems lately. My hands and my pelvis have been really painful and I'm achy and exhausted all the time. The doctors aren't listening to me. I've been sent for physio but there wasn't really a proper examination done when I saw the doctor. Although, to be fair, there is only so much you can do in a 10 minute slot.
Physio could take weeks to go through.

To top it off, I found out today that my dad is now married. I presume so anyway. I stumbled onto his Windows Live thing and a woman there called him hubby and I went to her page and he called her wifey. They are in their 50s. Not the kind of things adults joke about like that as teenagers etc would, I don't think.

I'm not sure why it's had such an effect on me. My dad and I don't really get on that well. When we talk, it's civil but I wouldn't say I consider him that much of a father and I have my reasons for that.

So, I potentially have a stepmother. This also means I may have stepbrothers and sisters. As if one mother wasn't bad enough, I might have another one? Now, don't get me wrong, she might be the nicest woman in the world but with my dad's track record, I doubt it and the chances of me meeting her are very slim because my dad is the sort of person who would rather chase women than look after his own children. Sad but true.

I'm not a bitter person. Not at all but I've seen my dad's relationships with women from a young age. I've always been second best. I guess that's never going to change.

Of course, it would just be one of those random terms of endearment and my dad is infact not married but I highly doubt it.

    Hi Lady M
I think you mean you feel a failure because you are having an off period but nobody feels happy all the time even some with an "awesome fianc". Also if you are in pain it is bound to bring you down.I hope you do not have to wait to long for the Physio and that it helps, maybe they will know what is causing it but i am suprised your gp did not arrange for any tests.Reading between the lines and i might be wrong but it seems to me that your Dad has a lot to answer for, your feelings of not being important, forgotton by the mental health teem and not being listened to by your gp stem from not feeling you come first with your dad.You said you felt second best from childhood as he seemed to put his other women before you.So finding out he is married makes you feel he has replaced you again,as you said this feeling may always stay with you but remember you have sam now and i am sure you come first with him.

Thank you for the hugs, they are appreciated.

It is the cold that gets to me the most. I have had a half cold since the end of August and it really makes things much more difficult.

Feeling ill when depressed oes seem to make it so much harder, random suugestion but have you tried echinacea (I don't think I spelt that right, apologies) or bachs remedies? I use them a lot when I'm feeling under the weather and though it doesn't fix things instantly, I tend to feel calmer.

Also what about one of those sunlight lamps for SAD? Been looking into those myself but as they're pricey been putting it off.

I have an SAD lamp but not sure when to put it on and for how long. I have put the heating on when I feel cold as I got so low the other day feeling cold.

I hope someone replies to me, I don't necessarily want solutions but an acknowledgement does help. This could be why this thread is less visited than before if people feel ignored.

This time of year brings me down. When the weather gets gloomy and darker days, I am more sensitive.

Sorry you are feeling low. Im not ready for winter because we hardly had much of a summer. It is upsetting if you feel ignored but sometimes its just that some people have missed your post or don't know what to say. I have to remind myself of this when it happens to me.

The only thing I like about this time of year is that when you shut the curtains and put the heating on it makes everything lovely and cosy. Ive got a "how to crochet" book coming in the post and am intending to start learning how to do this. Hopefully this will take my mind off the coming winter and that thing that is at the end of December (I refuse to say the C word, its still only September!!!)

Ive been on the Discussion Time forum, and am usually a bit wary of posting on there because some people can be nasty. Its nice to know I can come back here and talk to you lovely, warm people. After posting on DT last night I was in floods of tears (people can't understand why Im not badgering the doctor for more treatment for depression - I find it hard to badger anyone quite frankly:rolleyes:) and so am going to stay away for a while at least.

Have a good day everyone!

There's some good information on this page http://www.electronichealing.co.uk/articles/sadinstructions.htm essentially just making sure you use it every day is the most important thing. Hope that webpage is of use as a starting point with your lamp.

I agree, this summer hasn't been great but it was better than last year.

I would never post anything too deep on DT and you need to have a SOH to post there. I keep my deep musings on here - I do find the way StudentPhil is treated is quite harsh. What on earth happened on there to make you feel so bad?

I find the vent thread really harsh and swear there are professional wind up people from the offending companies defending their horrible attitudes/behaviour. Most of my ignored FMs are from there.

I feel sorry for studentphil on the threads I have read with him in it. I don't think he always understands when people are taking the mickey either.

The thread Ive been on is discussing IB benefit medicals and it got onto the subject of depression. Some people on there think its a made up illness (which made me mad) and others don't think you should get benefits if your OH is earning anyway (IB isn't means tested). I was already upset yesterday because it would have been my eldest dog's 10th birthday had she not passed away in January and I was thinking about her. Then people on that thread were having a go at me because I haven't done anything to try to get rid of my depression (even though I actually have!) so I got more upset.

Im ok now. Just going to bed now so should feel nice and refreshed tomorrow after a relaxing evening.

    Night night all!

Feel so tired today. Got a cold that won't go away or come out.

Updated the 'worried about my mother' thread. She laid into our son today.
