How to get the best discount from CD-WOW!

From what i can gather you need to sign up with an actual account with barclays that has the 'additions' stuff which gives you a smartsave card. This does incur a small charge, however it is free for students.
After you have got an account, to get the discount you have to call up the number and then pay for your purchase using the barclays account.0 -

Called CD-Wow who told me that the smartsaver offer is now finished. I advised the CSA that it shouldn't finish till dec 06 and was told that it had finished yesterday (ie jan 31st) and this is what she has been told by her superiors and if I think it should still be going on I should call Barclays.
Barclays smartsaver website now has 'thehut' as the discount site, however it only allows for 10% and their prices are way higher than CD-Wows.

Yea I only found this out today as well, I thought it didn't run out until Dec 2006 as well. What is the Barclays number or Smartsave number to complain about this? I'd be totally gutted if this was permanently finished.0 -

CD-Wow offer missing, I was of the understanding that all offers were valid until Dec 2006.

Dear Daryl
Thank you for your email.
The CD WOW offer expired at the end of January 06. There is now a new offer available with the hut. You will be able to enjoy a 10% discount off of your total bill.
Please visit https://www.smartsaveoffers.com/musicandfilm to enjoy the savings off of your purchases.
Kind Regards
Emma

Unfortunatley the hut's prices are more expensive than CD-wow even after discount is applied. Is there a reason that the 'new' discounts available are so bad?
Regards
Daryl
Unfortunately all we can do is get the best offer available in the market place, the CD WOW offer was only available for 1 year, and we have chosen the most competitively priced company that was able to offer a further discount to Barclays Additions account holders.
Kind Regards
Emma
*edit* rejigged it so it read properly0 -
I fired off an e-mail to Emma an hour ago, lets see if she gives me the same copy and paste reply. Totally agree with what you said about The Hut - their prices are almost as bad as Highstreet retailers and even so, it's still only 10% and not 20%.
Maybe if Barclays get enough complaints about it they might be able to do something about it??I live in hope.......

CD Wow are offering a few CD's for £2.99 at the moment but with the codes below you can get them for half price.
First click the page:-
http://www.couponmountain.co.uk/frame.php?p=518&c=&m=43
This gets you a 50p coupon via an email link.
Next use the code from the next one below when paying to get the remaining £1 off.

If you use more than one type of discount, chances are CD-WOW will cancel your order.
They have done this all the time in the past. So my advice is to only use one type of discount!

Does anyone have a working $USD voucher link?
My current $2 one seems to have given up.0 -
As this site is a UK site you will probably only find £ links.
Sorry.
