from blonde to brunette

Hi,
While there are some 'people in the know' are here could I please ask for some related advice. My daughter has naturally fair hair, not bright blonde, for some reason she wanted to go brown, now she would like to return to her fairer colour. Does she have to wait for the colour to grow out or is there any way she can lighten it without bleaching and damaging her hair. We tried a light colour on it but it didn't make any difference.
Hope someone can help and thanks in advance.0 -

Have you thought about trying your local college? I've been looking round for a haircut recently and I was a bit staggered at the prices (£30/£40 for a 'restyle', shows how long it's been since I had a haircut lol) and I noticed that my local college has got two salons, a training one and a professional one. The prices for colours especially looked really cheap compared with the high street salon prices, and I can't imagine they'd make a mess of it (or if they did I bet they'd sort it
). I'm definitely going to book so it might be something to look at if you're looking for a cheaper hair-do. 0 -

Put ketchup in your hair it neutralises it thats what I did my hair was khaki green and went brown once i did that

Funny, but the hair colour I use says if you want to exactly replicate the colour on the box to use their superblonde lightener first

My girlfriend does hair dressing at college and we have a salon open to the public which is really cheap. They are always supervised and I've never head of anything going wrong.0 -
My aunt's went bright orange years ago, she phoned my mum in hysterics (not the laughing kind lol). The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0

I can defiantly recommend going to a college, I went to the college for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I can honestly say its one of the best hair cuts I have ever had, It was checked every step of the way by the tutor and I actually found it much easier to explain what I wanted, and best of all for a wet cut and blow dry it was £6.60 compared to the normal £25-£30 it was defiantly MSE!!2009 wins: Cadburys Chocolate Pack x 6, Sally Hansen Hand cream, Ipod nano! mothers day meal at Toby Carvery! :j :j :j :j0 -
wish i had thought of the college earlier, just had a haircut, been putting it off for ages for two reasons, one i couldnt afford it and two i have a tremor and it can be embarrasing at the hairdressers, decided i needed spoiling for a change but it cost me £25. Will definately try the college next time.Thanks0

I should probably just note if you do go to the college be prepared for it to take a little longer than usual!! Worth it though!

Ahh the dreaded green hair stories.
I was 14 and my sister had her on Salon. Lots of new things were coming out at the time, like foils and guns for doing highlights. Muggins got tested on a lot
Went from having Blond streaks to having brown hair. I used to swim a lot in those days, and yes I went green. Red does neutralise it, and it's advisable to dye it red b4 dying it brown. Am actually surprised my hair didn't all break off in those days, I was dying it every other week  4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
