Boot Fair Wish List - 2006

Thanks to Yorkielass for the reminder that Boot Fair season is only around the corner, I've decided that to be a savvy shopper at Boot Fairs(admittedly unpredicatable), I might be wise to draw up a list of items that I need and might reasonably expect to find at a Boot Fair.

One year I was lucky enough to get some great plants for the garden so that is going on my list for Easter when they hold a HUGE Boot Fair to open the season.

I'm also on the look out for some fabrics for quilting but only in creams/tans/coffee/milk chocolate colours. Last summer many clothes were in the shops with those colourways so I'm hoping to find some - if I'm really lucky, they will be the beaded clothing and I can grab the beads off the clothes for other projects I have in mind.

This made me wonder about how others approach visiting BF's. So, here's your Boot Fair 2006 thread to share our wish lists, bargain buys and any other questions, chit chat

~ What is on your Boot Fair Wish List for 2006?

~ Will you remember to set yourself a budget?

~ Will you haggle so that you remain within budget or better yet, come out of it *under* budget?

~ When you visit BF's, if you don't go with a wish list, what items are you mainly on the look out for?

Hi Queenie
When I made my quilt I bought calico [washed it first so it wouldn't shrink] and then dyed it with tea....got a good shade out of it that way. Sorry not related to the thread in any way!!

We got our Kenwood chef of a bootsale for £3. I thought it looked like a scruffy old thing and was too much! But I have to admit it's excellant.The glass bowl broke though, and we had to replace it with a stainless steel one which cost £30!
I am so missing the boot sales,I've had to start buying my kids brand new clothes!I can't beleive people choose to do this!It's so expensive,I like clothes to cost between 10p - £1. not £10 reduced from £20!
I look for designer shoes to sell on ebay, campers do well.Any kids Monsoon stuff and vintage fisherprice.

using the search boxes most car boot sale threads seem to be in the oldstyle forum!
in fact there are even a few links to the car boot threads in Squeakys MEGA index, so why move this one out when the writer obviously wanted to chat about it in oldstyle

Those threads are all old dormant ones and i did not consider them worth moving. Since the ebay board now includes other auctions (it says so in the title) newer active threads have been moved across. Even long running well established threads with hundreds of contributions such as selling on ebay to earn pin money have been moved.

I stand by my decision to move this thread to the most appropriate board.

If you feel that I am wrong then please click on the red triangle in the bottom left corner of my post here and report the matter to the Forum team for their decision.

Well every other year i've bought bargains from boot fairs but this year we've been stocking up to sell instead (gotta love ebay and the freebies sites). I'm hoping to sell off loads of shoes and makeup, alongside a selection of sim cards and kids bits. Fingers crossed...

I shall also buying/selling at boot fairs this year to raise a bit of extra pocket money.
