The PC seemed to be working ok(ish) or so I thought. Just went into Event Viewer to look at the event log and it's telling me it's corrupt!!!

    How do I remedy this?

When I click on Event Viewer - System, a red cross dialogue box comes up saying "The event log file is corrupt"

well if your going to do it ~ ud better make sure you do it EXACTLY right :p

If ur not confident then just leave alone (not like the event viewer is NEEDED to run the computer)

When I've used CCleaner and sorted Registry issues, it asks me to save a backup. 1) Should I try restoring this backup first and 2) Should I refrain from using the registry cleaning parts in future?!?

You should be BACKING them up when it asks. Personally I only use the registry clean bit about once every 6 months

Have backed them up as prompted. Question is should I restore this file instead (and if so, how).

    Thanks!
