If it helps I've just agreed to buy a persimmon house, it was on for £424 from Jan - mid-March, then they dropped it to £359 and I haggled hard to reach £336 which was the absolute lowest I could get them to go. In our favour was that we don't have a house to sell, in their favour was that this was the last property of this type on the development and there was a lot of interest - indeed the day we were signing the reservation a couple came in to enquire about the very property we were buying.
£424 -> £336 = 20%
£359 -> £336 = 6.4%0
