Thanks to both of you, Doozegirl and Lodger. I will speak to my solicitor again this week, if he can put a date on it im sure he would, as we use him a lot for our businesses and private stuff, lots things he even did for free for us:j0

We havnt got a date on our contract. However, we are monitering our biuld and it is on schedule. Our house is due to complete end of June with move in date 10 days later.
We have also used soliciters that Wimpey recommend...Wimpey pay the costs....and we have had nothing but excellant work from them. Any questions they are happy to answer and take time to talk to you. We have compared their work with the work our soliciter did when we bought our current home...and there is no differance.
WSHARP...i have already posted on your other thread about the reductions already done on our development and can say that all their plots are now reserved...and they are unable to release others until September due to this...they have sold loads since the reductions.0 -

Thanks for answering my questions again... Anyway, we have decided we are going to put the reservation fee this coming Friday, as just had a chat with my mother she's very supportive and she said to me if this is the house I like and so the location, then go for it, we are buying a home not for investment and she's going to pay for all the deposit (50%), furniture and every year she'll give us 10k to pay for our mortgage, all she wants is she can relax and thinking her daughter is living in a nice home and safe (she's in another country), and she really would like to be a grandmother;) so this is really priceless to her:j0 -

houses by me were 270k now going for 180k so you have a terrible deal i think....do a lot more home work...have a look at what the others went for
http://www.nethouseprices.com/It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
This is a very good deal. Can I ask which part of the country do you live and which builder is this?
you have not been looking at sold prices for the last two years then.....prices on new builds have fallen big time..i reckon 30% off 2008 prices is quite often achieved...to the op you really have to play hard ball with these people otherwise they will walk all over you...It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?

Thanks for the advice. What I will do tomorrow is... when the sales woman ring, i will tell her just got a phone call from George Wimpey (as she knew we are looking at weipey development as well) and they even offered me further discount today and their price will include carpets, upgraded kitchen and alarm system, and my OH is very keen on this offer, unless u can make further discount on your offer then i can speak to my OH to persuade him to consider yours. What do you think?0
