How do you get this to work?
I think a username/password is needed. I tried loading news.easynews.com into my newsreader and I get "480 authentication required"0 -
I don't get anything about a free trial.0

Guy's you go to members area then type in your groups in the search box, you have to use the online newsreader I think, it does work.

Hi All
Advice please, I have used all my FREE allowance from EASYNEWS does anyone know of any other good FREE news groups?
I am with talktalk but they have blocked ports re peer-peer sharing!! (Suppose to be unlimited)
Thanks in advance TT10 -
not sure about free but i use newshosting.
they have quite a few different ports you can use. whats especially useful is they allow you to connect to them on port 80. which means you can normally use port 80 and get around some firewalls and blocks that may be imposed on you.Waddle you do eh?0 -
i have PM to you0

Why would anyone pay for Usenet access? It's madness! For those who have access to the Internet, but do not have access to a news server, Google Groups ([1]) allows reading and posting of text news groups via the World Wide Web. Though this or other "news-to-Web gateways" are not always as easy to use as specialized newsreader software—especially when threads get long—they are often much easier to search. Users who lack access to an ISP news server can use Google Groups to access the alt.free.newsservers newsgroup, which has information about open news servers.0

specifics can't be mentioned on this forum - but google allows access to the text groups only, there are also binary ones - i.e. downloading linux distributions, for example.0
