Have anyone tried Tesco mobil?
Looking on their website, to me, it seem to good to be true.
A bundle cost £5 and for that 50 mins of talk, that as to be good, and yet no one seem to comment on it, is their a catch?

I will be thankful for any replies.

  • There's a decent offer on at the minute for Tesco mobile. Its their value SIM £6.73 and free delivery - you get £10 credit and an extra £5 credit if you port your existing number to them.

I'm not sure whether you can take advantage of the three numbers favourites for 10p a call on this but sure someone will know. Tesco use O2's network so should be pretty reliable.

    No catch.

I use £2.50 a month just for occasional use. The only problem I have is that there is no way to check your remaining minutes automatically.

It uses o2 network so good coverage but o2 customers get priority if the network gets busy.

Ah, so it's a good deal.
I will buy one with Tesco tariff for my wife.
I have a Samsung D500 pay as you go, Vodaphone, had it 2 months.
Can I change now, or do I have to wait a year, I have signed no contract, but have the Vodaphone sim card.
    Thanks.

    OH loves it.

you can't get the 3 favourite numbers on value sim as ALL calls are charged at the favourite number rate when on value tariff.

Downside of value tariff is that it really is a basic service, you can only text and call, no MMS, international etc, but that works just dandy for us.

Be careful, there are two tariffs and I have had experience with both - there is no change to the level of service although the range of services is significantly reduced.

    Value is flat rate:-
    5p texts
    15ppm calls
but the range of service is basic (you want GPRS internet, photo messages or calls abroad then forget it).

There normal tarrif has 2 levels:-
    5p texts (to favourite 3)
    10ppm calls (to favourite 3)
    10p text (others)
    20ppm calls (others)
Additional services are also available but you need to be creative if you've a lot of friends to get savings on the all your calls.

Your needs and usage pattern will determine which is the best... I'm a texter and wanted to keep all text costs down so the value tariff was ideal for me, I just called them up to switch (value wasn't an option when I started).

Hiya, could you point out where it says about the extra £5 if you port a number to them please?

I think the porting offer finished 28 feb.

OH forgot to quote the code when he ported, and when he rang back the next day, they wouldn't let him have the extra credit. I make these moneysaving things as easy as I can for him, but does he listen?!
