put a new combi boiler in october
all the heating had to be on to get hot water with last boiler, couldn't switch between heating and hot water only
think what i just don't get is how the price per unit on npower sol 14 is cheaper than my fixed price per unit, but my fixed price works out cheaper, hope that makes sense0 -
Using Energyhelpline and the details you gave, the site suggests £1434 per year and is the best deal available.
Also bear in mind nPower give an annual discount £105, you need to check when it is due normally on the anniversary of signing up.
You could also ring nPower to get your usage pattern. They get this all the time so no worry. Have used 'Price fix 2009' tariff to get the annual spend.
Can't help you will boiler settings.0 -

High for us. We used 10 yesterday (no dishwasher or laundry) and will use about 15 today (dishwasher, two wash loads, kids' TV and x box on since lunchtime, couple of laptops, dehumidifier couple of hours etc etc).
On our ten unit days, we have the usual (large fridge and large freezer, couple hours dehumidifier, four electric blankets for an hour, usual lights) plus two TVs all evening (one with xbox and one with Sky+).0 -
Sounds a lot to me. Family of 4 in a 3 bed semi, using about 9 units a day of electric. But if you aren't being careful eg using tumble dryer, electric shower, ordinary light bulbs and electronics always on, it's probably about right. It matches your annual consumption figure of 6800 units(18.5 per day).
Your gas is pretty high, too. But if you like it warm, it will be! I'm a bit mean, so we use less than 20000 kwh a year.
Changing tariff will save money, but changing a few habits would probably save a lot more.0 -
think i'll give npower a ring and ask for my usage pattern0

A lot of electric use, is just for plain convenience and entertainment. Essential things like central heating pump and lights, OK, but the rest can be worked around.0

i think alot of it was to do with my partners continious use of a tumble dryer, have invested in a dehumidifier,so hopefully cut the bills down a bit0
