Hi Scotty, you may have the details wrong...energyhelpline shows (at 20000kwh for gas and 3000kwh for elec.) Fixed price 2009, an annual spend of £850 beating the nearest by £150 a year.
Online is usually cheapest, and not sure but discounts are mentioned on the switching site so would be included.
Your total dd's amount to £1524 p.a. maybe paying off arrears.

Have you used actual annual consumption in kwh in the comparison, or just what you spend? You need kwh for an accurate comparison.

Also, you could edit your original post and delete the second half of your post code.

Magentsue, maybe a silly question, but how di work out the annual consumption?

Quickest way is two actual meter readings a year apart. Your supplier should be able to tell you, if you don't have records. If you haven't been there that long, you can get an idea from taking a summer quarter and a winter quarter, adding them together and doubling them.

    Obviously, must be actual readings.

Well, so long as your customer reading was correct, you've got 5859 - 3361 for gas = 2498 meter units.

If elec is OK, that's 6775kwh, so say 6800kwh.

To convert gas units to approx kwh, it's x11 for metric or x31 for imperial. Hopefully, metric - about 27,500kwh.

Yes. If you put your current tariff in, you should be able to see how much you are paying a year now. Then you see the 'best buys' and what they cost. It's worth looking at the gas and electricity tabs to see where the savings can be made. For example, when I compared my SP tariff there were a few offering small savings. When I checked the gas, they were all more expensive but there were savings on the electricity. Always worth considering the dual fuel discount, but sometimes, it isn't enough.
