in Credit cards
Hi All,
My first time on here, hope you can help.
Im trying to find out which credit cards will offer, for example, a £5000 + limit facility from the word go ?
Ive had a capital one card for over a year, but only have a £1000 limit. Capital one dont seem to be in a hurry to raise it and cant/wont advise me on how to get it increased. I havent got any bad credit history.
Any help or advice would be welcomed.
Thanks
Alex

Try Tesco/Virgin/MBNA/EGG/Mint
They are meant to be good ones for good limits - but ut all depends on your credit rating of course2010 - year of the troll

Virgin tend to hand out larger limits but it will depend on your salary and how much you owe on other things as to how big your limit will be.0

got my biggest limit from Citibank.0

Just about every single card offers credit limits avove £5K apart from sub-prime/starter cards. General cards themselves don't have limitations that low, it's the person who holds the card that has the limitation.
It will all depend on your credit rating as to what limit you get and I don't mean the 'fictitious' 3 digit score provided by the likes of Experian/Equifax.0 -

Do citi do instant answers if you can be verified bt Electoral list etc??
and do they use Experian like Egg do?0 -

They are being prudent.
They do not want you to take on too much debt and they do not want to take too much risk themselves................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -
I have had many cards with £3K to £10+K limits and an excellent credit score, yet Capital One would only give me £1K, give them a miss.
( I know when they started in the UK they refused a card to the well paid Producer of the BBC's "Money Programme") .
I too would recommend MBNA cards and the Virgin one has the best 0% BT at 15 months with 2.9% fee.ac's lovechild0 -
