Been doing much benevolent socialism lately? :rotfl::p
Yes, I have really profited from labour too. I haven't had to work in ten years, yet I earn about 30k in benefits every year. Its class. I put in a whiplash claim so I could get deposit to buy my council house for 13 grand, sold it in 2007 for 120 grand, banked the money as I now live in a social housing new build. I pay £30 per month, but the houses around me sold to private buyers for about £500 grand. Through my 'bad back' from whiplash I get all the disability allowance and a free car and all that, plus with me six kids, i've never personally had to work to buy them their Nike Air Maxis and Wii fits. Me £30 a month gym membership is free too as I am 'obese'.
Aye, life under labour is sweet.

No, not at all. I'm rich like you and it's all thanks to labour. We're one and the same, me and you annie. Neither of us could have done it without them.I'll have some cheese please, bob.0 -

I'm no anti-capitalist (non-capitalist societies tend to end in failure and misery), and I am no Brownite either, but those who think that "Things will only get better!" under the Tories are mistaken.
The Conservatives will likely win the election. Not because they offer a credible alternative, and not because they offer an inspirational new direction or some great ideas - they will win simply by default. Enough time has passed for people to have forgotten about the travesty that was the last Tory administration.
The Tories are happy with their, quite frankly, obvious soundbites: too much debt, people need to save, blah, blah, blah. I didn't see the Tories spouting these cliches prior to the credit crunch.
This is a global financial crisis. It is affecting every major economy. It is affecting Britain - it would be affecting Britain if the Tories, Lib Dems, Greens, BNP or Monster Raving Loonies were in power.
I am not happy with the way that Labour is responding to the crisis. I think they should be harder with the banks (like ploughing Goodwin's disgusting pension fund back into RBS, to help keep its books balanced). I think they should have discouraged the BoE from implenting QE, and I think interest rates should have been reduced, but not to 0.5 per cent (because in six, twelve, or whatever, months time. when interest rates need to be increased to prevent hyperinflation, it will cause difficulties for those who've taken out a variable rate this year).
I think things will get worse under the Tories, which is a shame because Britain needs a right-of-centre, prudent, conservative (in the real sense of the word) alternative to New Labour. Sadly we don't have that under Cameron and Osborne. The best way to save money is not to spend it.:cheesy: "Smile first thing in the morning. Get it over with." W. C. Fields. :cheesy:0 -
Lots of people warned of the current crisis.
None of them are Conservative MPsPrefer girls to money0
