I’ve live through various Labour & Tory governments and although I am not very impressed with the present labour government I can’t see the Tories doing any better. Some things will be better and others worst.

Since the debacle of 15% interest rates, the sweaty and shameful withdrawal from the ERM and the demise of Thatcherism, also the decline from over three million unemployed, I have prospered with the good stewardship of Labour chancellors.

This government has allowed me to realise standards of living not associated with capitalist bondage.

Many will know from previous postings that I am a farmer and a cash rich landlord,(Lady).

In 1992 I bought 2 semi detached houses in Aberdeen for £91,750 as a cash buyer, today they are selling and very quickly at a little over £200,000,both are on long leases to BP at £1100 PCM.

I also have two holiday properties in an area of oustanding natural beauty which are free from mortgage and very heavily booked until until the beginning of November a real bonus as the season nomally ends in September.

So all is not Gloom, infact I am just back from Java and feeling quite perky and hopefull.

Why do folks have the need to boast on internet forums about their wealth?

Do you remember the tory shutdown?

Or are you just one more of the brainwashed?

I clicked "Thanks" to your message. It was an accident.

The economy is in a mess, you're doing well, therefore the government is doing well too and we're all brainwashed.

Who do you think is behind this brainwashing? The Tories. They're no better.

No, Gordon Brown is bankrupting this country. Glad you're flying high. Maybe you should send another gloating message to the debt forum and see how they're getting on.
  • what a read!:rotfl:

I am none the wiser, except an alleged 16 years in service, some farming and a BTL'er. Hubby allegedly Stn Cdr RAF Finninley which closed around 1992. So with all this accumulated wealth, and all these jobs I guess the OP has fallen off her zimmer frame:rotfl:

I wonder why people have to brag so much online? Totally pointless as it`s totally unprovable. I know that this won`t make me popular but in real life I am Fred the Shred.

LOL pobby... You're too principled to be Fred the Shred, but that did give me a good chuckle. Now if Brodders said he was Fred, I'd believe it. He must at least have Fred the Shred's sock puppet as one of his aliases.

  • It was the Americans who defeated the Nazis.

If it wasn`t for the 1971 pay review by the Labour party those poor boys would be dying for less.
