I use GWR a bit - usually get an APEX First ticket, well worth the extra. Free paper, coffee, bikkies, more room, quieter (in the 'phone free coach) and use of the lounge (and free loo !) at Paddington.0

I think I probably had my moneys worth in tea, coffee, biscuits, minearl water and paper on my last trip

that was a while ago tho :sigh:0 -
I don't drop cigarette ends and I don't foul the pavements - how is that disrespectful? I am very mindful that my behaviour doesn't interfere with other people, but not everyone is as considerate. Someone else commented that one of the benefits of travelling in First Class is that it's quieter - don't you think a carriage-load of passengers also deserve the benefits they've paid extra for? If they're reading/relaxing/working/sleeping they're not affecting you, but boistrous children would affect them which I don't believe is fairnjsb14 wrote:Remember respect is a two way process.0 -

Neither do young children drop cigarrette ends or foul pavements.WiseInvestor wrote:Someone else commented that one of the benefits of travelling in First Class is that it's quieter
No that is the benefit of the Quiet Carriages, no mobile phones and I would agree that parents shouldn't book children into the Quiet Carriage.WiseInvestor wrote:don't you think a carriage-load of passengers also deserve the benefits they've paid extra for?
The Parents have paid for the priviledge of seats for themselves and their children, so they can expect the same benefits as the others.WiseInvestor wrote:but boistrous children would affect them which I don't believe is fair
The children are communicating in their own way, just because it is different to the way you (we) communicate as adults doesn't make it right or wrong.
Remember every child and adult is a unique individual and should be treated as such, don't judge a book by its cover. Live and Let Live.0
