Well, I finally got to seed my veg last weekend, seeded lettuce, pea's, carrots and some mint.
Good news though, my strawberries have started to pop up :j woohoo
Also bought a blackberry plant at the weekend, potted it as the instructions said, I just have to keep it well watered nowIt lives in the shed overnight (Still waiting to find a cheap enough mini greenhouse, my Mum has found one in Cornwall for £15 which is half the price of places like B & Q, but the problem is how to get it up here! lol) and lives outside during the day
Next step is to get some larger pots to transfer the veg from the propogator into when they start to show, hopefully wont be for a few days, give me enough time to get paid! :rotfl:
I don't think I'd be suited in a garden centre at the moment, I wouldn't see any of my wages lol Good Luck Moozle:idea: Jan 09. Hi, not been on in a few weeks so had a lot to catch up on. Things sound great for everyone, I have managed to get another veg bed up and running over the weekend and now have raspberry canes, a blueberry plant, 5 bags of potatoes, some shallots and spinach beet on the go.
In my mini greenhouse I have dwarf french beans, peas, asparagus peas, toms, cucumber, spring onion and leeks all sprouting.
Still to sort out salad stuff, and winter veg - calabrese, neeps, sprouts and christmas cabbage.
Thanks for the link to moreveg whoever it was, it is a great site.
My new name is steptoe - my oh thought I was mad to go to the tip and ask to take wood out of the skip - we got enough to do the veg bed and it was free - he now wants to go to the one in the next town!0 -
I would like to start growing potatoes but not sure what I'd need, I've read through the thread and I've got loads of arrier bags and compost but do I need to buy special potatoes? or can I use shop bought ones? Jan 09. You can use the ones in your kitchen that have sprouted. Just stick about 4 inches of compost into the bottom of the container or bag, pop the potatoes on top and cover with a little more compost (just enough to cover the potatoes plus an inch or so). When you see leaves, cover them with a bit more compost, and keep doing that as the leaves poke through again until the container is full.0

Hiya guys, not put up my norfolk greenhouse yet because of the weather. Was DD1 birthday last sunday, I thought we migh get chance on saturday to get started. But she wanted to go swimming as a bd treat, and sunday was her party. So spent most of my time baking and cooking lol. Monday was lashing down and windy so no luck then.
Flatterned the ground ready and got the wood for the base to sit it on.
Read and reread the instructions and think I have it straight in my head now lol.
Fingers crossed for some dry weather lol.
Dry now but can't go out the front with DD2 as she will run off, hoping she has a kip later so i can make a start.
ali x
BTW rain but warm temps for the last few days and my whole garden seems to have sprung to life, things growing and sprouting everywhere hurrah"Overthinking every little thing
