True. It's just a shame bags of Quorn don't grow on trees, otherwise I'd have half a dozen in my garden :( :rotfl:

How / why would you get moisture into your compost bin please? Mine seems a bit dry - tell me where I'm going wrong please!!!! I did hear somewhere that the best compost activator is to get a helpful gentleman to pee into the bin but my hubby doesn't seem very keen.......... (scared of the neighbours and the earwigs..!) Gratefull for any advice / alternatives...

Tell him to do it in a watering can, otherwise he is trouble. Works for me.

If it is too dry urine is the best thing for it. Or you can just put a bit of water on it. What are you putting into it though? Try cutting down on the brown stuff and just put in green waste for a few days, then mix it up, that will get moisture in no problem.

Thanks for that. Yesterday I put some fresh green grass clippings in so hopefully that should add some moisture. There had been quite a lot of brown dry stuff from where I had cut back some of the dead winter branches. Will try to alternate more green bits in! We save all our fruit / veg peelings as well as teabags, but I have never put paper or card in - does it work?
