who on earth would want to bury glass in a garden?

Ha! I remember one of my old neighbours telling me that they'd found a whole motorbike buried in their garden!

I guess if you can't be bothered to dispose of something properly, just dig a hole in the garden and stick it in there. By the time it gets unearthed, you're long gone! :rotfl:
  • Yes Gigervamp I guess thats whats happened. Just that i have a phobia about glass especially as i cant work in the garden with gloves. i like the feel of the earth i suppose! oh well never mind think i have it all out well spose i'l find out when i dig my hand in the earth unprotected... ouch!

I'm not far from Cardiff, but I'm originally from London. I see you're in Essex. My mums side of the family are from Harwich. :)

Hope you've got all the glass out. I usually wear gloves because I'm a wuss and there are a lot of nettles in my garden, but I do like to stick my hands in the soil too!

Beautiful day here, planning on more digging this afternoon.
One of my seedlings has finally emerged (the bean that my 3 yr old planted!!):o :rotfl:I covered it with an empty honey pot as a clotch and it seemed to like that.

    Happy gardening today:D

Hello there, self sufficient i am not but i try to do small things in the hope that if i add them all up i'll have a big impact! Did anyone else see Gardeners world this week, interesting ideas to reuse tin cans, then recycle them after use in the garden. Also some interesting ideas for growing your own, check out the BBC website https://www.bbc.co.uk/gardenersworld they are also giving away free packs of seeds and a newslettter with information on what to grow when. Hopefully they will be good for me as i'm a bit of a beginner!

Yes, I sent off for my free seeds while the programme was on! Not that I need them, for some women it's shoes and handbags, for me it's vegetale seeds. Cheaper and better for you!

My money saving tip this year is to use all my seeds! probably not viable, why do Seeds of Italy sell them in packs of 500??!!!!!!!

Cucumbers and pumpkins galore this year!
