Tesco Petrol

OK guys, got a problem with tesco petrol.

About two weeks ago I went to my local main tesco to get petrol, only £5 worth, but I noticed that before my petrol was actually dispensed I was charged 20p!
I filled up to £5 anyway and tried to take this up with the girl in the Kiosk but she didnt speak english and didnt understand me at all!
I have written a letter to tesco management but am yet to recieve a reply, is there anyone else I can complain to like a petrol company? I know its only 20p but I dont want this to happen to anyone else as its obviously unfair.
Any advice on this situation would be greatly appreciated.

You need to complain to Trading Standards who will carry out a weights and measure check on the garage.

Life is too short to worry about 20p. Keep an eye on future dealings and if it happens again then you will have a case.

If the display was not showing zero then you should not have filled up and gone in to mention it to the cashier first.

For any further queries at the Tesco Petrol Station, you can request that a pump test is carried out. They then use a special measuring tin that has been certified by trading standards and dispense 10 litres of fuel into it and from a bit on the side you can see whether it has went over or under. The duty manager is supposed to comply with this request, and if you ever get any hassle ask for the petroleum officer (Or equivalent in England) at your local council as they will be linked to trading standards.

It was at 0 to start.

By the way, if you dont have helpful comments to add, why bother? Yeah so its 20p but the more people this happens to, the more people are done out of petrol. I thought this forum was supposed to be about helping people, not about being obnoxious and rude?

Thanx hun, see now this was the kind of advice I was after.
Turns out after talking to a few people I know, I am not the only one who has had this problem with this particular tesco petrol station.

Agreed. I wrote a long email to a bus company about 30p lost. It's about the principle.
