Good: We switched to Value dried pasta/lasagne a while ago - really haven't noticed a differenct from the Napolina we used to buy.
Bad: We used to buy Value tuna for our cats - I tried it once, it wasn't nice and is dark and greyish compared to standard stuff. We recently tried the Somerfield version though, which is great - looks and tastes like 'proper' canned tuna"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

Can't believe the first post says the frozen peas are bad, they're perfectly fine! However I'm glad it's got pulled up from the depths again as it's very helpful and informative. I am now annoyed that my local Tesco doesn't seem to stock many of the Value versions at all. I must live in some sort of posh place
.
Remembered I've also done the mixed herbs, fresh chicken breasts, eggs, long grain rice which are all good. Also the value chocolate, I'm not keen on it for just eating but for cooking, e.g. using chopped up as choc chips, it's fine and lovely.
Has anyone found it to be true that the general rule is the less processed a product the cheaper you can go without it being horrible? For instance value onions are fine, but value sausages will taste more of evil than sausage!0 -
Tesco value ice cream is really nice. Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama0

That's down from 50p, but it's not half as nice as the Morrisons offer, their loaf which is usually 79p I think, is down to 30p, white or wholemeal, it tastes lovely, offer ends on 15 August.
The worst Tesco Value product we've tried has to be the Jaffa Cakes, can't believe they are on the 'good' list! The sponge, if you could call it that, was really hard and slightly burnt, truly horrific even DH wouldn't eat them and he eats anything!
Ones we've tried which we think are good:
orange squash
baked beans
marrowfat peas - a bit weird in colour but tasted the same as Batchelors to me and DH
toilet rolls - I must have tough skin!
cheese slices
iceberg lettuce
mushrooms - just wash them thorougly, they do come out of the ground after all!
I'm going to try the ketchup, salad cream and fabric softener this week, so will report back on those.0
