Merc v. Saab

I'd go for a Saab. As nice as the Mercs are, they are getting more and more common on our roads ... slowly moving towards 3-series popularity. If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0

With my money saving head on, I would say the Merc as the residuals will hold.
My other head says the Saab, or something else alltogether.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!

The 150 Saab is easily tuned to 200bhp, a worth while investment in a tuning box (Red Dragon Green/Eco is good) - and declare it on the insurance of course. (I've taken off my money saving head now!)

Saabs are going to be worth nothing if they go bust, like rovers after their collapse. mercs hold their values well. Audis do as well, and neither mercedes or audi is likely to go bust anytime soon.
Personally I like Alfa Romeos, and their diesels are fantastic. You can get a near new at very low prices because everyone is scared of them. They can be pricey to service, but in general they last well and they are great fun to drive!0 -
The 07 C-Classes are reasonable cars in terms of quality and reliability and would be a better purchase than the 9-3 which has known issues. The man without a signature.0

07 (plate) Mercedes 200 CDI
or
58 (plate) SAAB 1.9 TDI Vector
Erm none...! Merc wil fall apart and Saab will cost you a fortune to repair.
Get Audi, LExus, Honda type stuff...0 -
I think the Mercedes would be the best bet, different class to other cars and having had one for a while I have found it reliable and economic.0

In what way? Poor reliability or expensive parts?
Bearing in mind that it has stacks of warranty left, I would be surprised if it cost that much. What goes around - comes around0
