We are a greedy country, and one without a high degree of integrity. The rule of thumb in modern, soulless, Godless, not-very-nice Britain appears to be that's it's okay to chase material wealth and status as the sole purpose in life, and not necessary to have many scruples about how. Look at the example that our MPs set !
I too can sympathise with those who have lost out whilst the likes of Goodwin prosper. But I don't think that most of the individuals doing the protesting and demonstrating, peaceful or otherwise, fit that bill. They are, as I saw one journalist describe this week, a bunch of unwashed layabouts and anarchist muppets.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

Up to a point yes. But it's Labour and the left who are the Godless ones -- anti-Christian for sure. Nobody has bare-facedly chased wealth and status with precious little integrity more than the Blairs -- what an example they set ! It is also Labour's "business friendly" and " light touch regulation" policies which have done a lot to get us where we are with the financial crisis, and the profiteering by the utilities and oil companies and others. Maggie did not create the FSA, and whilst she privatised the utilities, but she did not remove the price regulation on the illusion that it was a competitive market, nor did she allow them to fall into foreign hands. In terms of integrity, need I say more ? Jacqui Smith ? Mandelson ? Hoone ? The dodgy Iraq dossier ? Cash for honours ? No doubt there are Tory snouts in the trough too, but what hypocrites Labour are. They have had twelve years to at least begin to unwind Maggie's alleged greed culture, but I see no sign of them having done that. Too greedy themselves to want to, I reckon.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
