I'm a nothing..
Except a dodgy comment I once made on the BBC website and stupidly used my real name and a BR...... My gazette entry comes up on the first 4 items!
And a real bummer is changing my name to what? Its double barrelled and my maiden name is not that popular and my husbands name is rare anyway so searching just by Mrs Skylight One, there are loads of listings AND the gazette entry early on, and searching by Mrs Skylight Two there are no listings except the BBC one and the gazette! So it may have to be a first name change and a surname change too.
Oh dear. OH went potty enough when I wouldn't take his name solely when we married. Have no idea what he may do now...........0 -

How about using your mother's maiden name and keeping your first name, at least there would be a familial link. Mr Sky can use it too:DAccept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I
I am just a bit concerned about prospective employers doing a search for me - doing AATs at college in Sept, and I think that employers (cos they are usually a bit backward-thinking) don't really want an ex-BR for an accountant!
quote]
Hi
I'm really sorry but not actually sure you will be able to become a member of the AAT as a bankrupt person. As an accountant, you have to sign "fit and proper" forms every year to say that you aren't bankrupt, in an IVA etc etc.
Just had a quick look for you , looks like they will let you become a student , but they are unlikely to admit you to membership when you pass if you are undischarged. If you are discharged, you will have to jump through quite a few hoops. Sorry to be bearer of bad news but best to be prepared!
Heres the paragraph
If you want to become a student memberand you;you will not be able to become a student member if there is good reason for us not to accept you.
• are bankrupt; or
• have been but are no longer bankrupt; or
• are in any formal arrangement with your creditors; or
• have at any time been in any formal arrangement with creditors
you will usually be able to become a student member; butIf you want to become a full memberand you;We must be satisfied with (i), (ii) and (iii) above.
• are bankrupt; or
• have been but are no longer bankrupt; or
• are in any formal arrangement with your creditors; or
• have at any time been in any formal arrangement with creditors
you will only be able to become a full member if you;
(i) show us that there are circumstances that minimise the fault on your part (these must be exceptional if
your bankruptcy is undischarged or your formal arrangement is still current); and
(ii) have provided an additional character reference; and
(iii) have met all other application requirements for full mambership.
