How about using your mother's maiden name and keeping your first name, at least there would be a familial link. Mr Sky can use it too:D

    Erm...

    a) Mr Sky and MIL Sky are not the best of friends.... And you may get sworn at for suggesting such a link!
    b) Mothers Maiden name is a rare Irish one, so if I am a naughty girl ever again.....

    Thanks Ems.

I have carefully read up on the AAT membership criteria - I don't want to waste my time either; its precious to me!

I am now discharged so getting student status shouldn't be too much of a problem and by the time I have finished the courses it will be 2 years down the line - so almost 3 since discharge. I know that nothing is ever simple, but I saw their terms as a good thing - its not a "no". Its a "yes, with conditions"; and I took those conditions to be mean acceptance if being BR was circumstantial rather than neglect/stupidity/fraud etc.

Of course, I know that things are never simple in BR and are not simple outside of it either!

I completed my AAT studies 12 years ago and have never been a member after the first year. I don't think it makes any difference when you're going to interviews etc whether you're a member or not, I've never even been asked.

Blimey, my bankruptcy notice in the gazette comes up on the first page when I google my name

As for changing your name - mine is distinctive (combination of both married names, double barrelled  ) and I must admit sometimes I think about changing it but I have both surnames as my girls have different surnames so I'm the 'bridge'
