I have never had a point or been pulled over by the police. I bought insurance 21/1/09 and have the certificate. Seems Swinton forgot to load the policy onto the insurance database and I passed by an ANPR car!! Swinton aren't open in the evening either so I had to get the police to follow me home so that I could prove that I have the policy schedule.
Will be an interesting call tomorrow.....I do know how to complain as I work a a complaints handler!!!!:rotfl:

What precisely are you going to complain about?0

Does your Certificate of Insurance have the correct registration number on it? I ask this as its often the cause of the MID not showing your insured.
If you want to confirm whether you are insured or not you can do it here https://www.askmid.com0 -
I'll be interested in how you get on. Good luck!0

That was the first thing that the policeman checked as he said that often they had the number plate wrong. it is correct.
"Quote What precisely are you going to complain about?" - would you be happy to be pulled over as a company has not done their job properlyThere are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0 -

It seems to me that the database does, generally, a good thing. How long has it been around? I'm not sure, but the number of people who moan about it never ceases to amaze me.
If stopping one person, or one hundred people, "incorrectly" means that the police catch one uninsured driver then I reckon it's doing its job.
Complaining about it will be a waste of your time.0 -
If I got pulled over, had the Police come to my house because an insurance firm that I pay lots of money to didn't bother updated the database I would be angry, certainly feel the need to complain0
