    Serves him right for not looking up the development and actually see that its listed less.. (its still listed less on the site).

    Wonder what will happen when his mortgage company has the survey. I doubt it will be valued at £300k.

    If they were prepared to let it go at that much less (and didn't the OP mention fun getting mortgages lined up for it even then?) then I can't see a mortgage company valuing at £300k, no.

    Wonder if they'll come back to him in a few days time and say the other seller had to pull out for reasons un-connected to the value of the property, and "would you like to buy at the price we originally offered you which now seems like a bargain doesn't it?"

    I know, makes me wonder about the 3 bed house I just purchased for 108k. I mean it isn't new build and no one described it as "pimped out" or anything!

    new builds or not.. 1 bed flats go for that price in E1.. (unless you want to live on an ex-council high rise)

    Erm just move to another part of the country then....because paying 240k for a 1 bed flat is rather stupid.
    If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
