Are people nice to you in your Lidl store?

My sister was only 18 at the time, so I guess she was paid quite a bit less than older members of staff."I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0

I have found the staff in mine to be quite nice, just some of the customers are bad mannered...cn't be all the customers 'cos I go there and I'm nice!!
I always get the stuff for my kids lunches there and I always go there for my lamb chops.0 -
does anyone have any tips on how to get your stuff into the trolley at lidl/aldi - i just seem to grab it and throw, as it comes through the tills so fast, and i invariably end up squashing things, so get home with crushed food and flat loaves of bread
why do they not have longer checkouts, and make you take your stuff to the shelf at the side to repack it?
i had one member of staff shout at me, because i didnt have the trolley facing the right way at the checkout, it must be handle to tills, not front of trolley facing tills - wow i really broke the rules there

Hi - It must be in their training to throw the stuff at you coz my Lidl staff do that also! In Lidl's you can get some lovely stuff:
Fruit loaf (better than Warburtons/Braces etc)
Hovis granary bread - only 54p (90 odd in asda/tesco)
Frozen paella - full of fish etc (OH loves it)
Also in same part of freezer (usually side by side) a red bag with a funny name (sorry can't remember the name)
Their premium ham
Fruit and veg is okay if half price, but find it goes off really quickly so only buy small amounts and only if half price!!!
Dishwasher tablets work okay - even better if you cut them in half!
sweeteners called Calogon - brilliant - taste just like Canderel sweeteners and 2/3 the price
There are other things, but these are my favourites - don't buy their cheap
baked beans though as they are not very nice!!
Happy shopping and good luck - remember they don't take credit cards!!!
PS Chocolate digestive are lush too - and only 46p for a massive packet! yum! yum! :jWhen you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0 -
Can never understand this sort of thread. Lidl, like easyjet, is CHEAP. For a reason!0

I think it must be hard to get staff, ours has one cashier and sometimes the manager will very reluctantly get on a till. I don't feel it is much cheaper if you shop around for special offers at other stores.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

It cant be because of the prices, round our way there is a cheap little shop called home bargains, brilliant for toiletries, booze and soft drinks as well as other odds and ends for the home, on a saturday there are queues from the front of the shop halfway down each aisle but the staff greet you, smile and are very helpful as they bag your shopping while they scan it.
I have found the larger stores like Tesco and Asda have their fair share of ignorant staff, they greet you with a smile and then sit chatting to the other cashiers while scanning your shopping barely giving you the time of day and if your a bit slow packing it they sit staring at you as if thats going to chivvy you up.
I take my time on purpose they want my money and I want my goods intact and as the customer Im always right :PI owe, I owe,
its off to work I go,
I work all day for f***all pay,
I owe, I owe, I owe :rotfl: :rotfl:
