Have you checked that there is a mini bar, it would be unusual for this to happen or even a small fridge in
    a Travelodge is unheard of.

Dont forget to take extra tea bags, coffee, buy milk froma local shop.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I'd be wary of any mini bar... somebody I know booked a room with a mini bar once - and it was a posh hotel (for us), so 4-5 of us went up to see the room, one opened the mini bar and just touched a bottle.... and the automatic charging system tried to charge my friend for the drink as it registered movement, even though the drink was still in the fridge. So be careful if you start opening it and mucking about in there.

But basically, it's just 2 days, you won't starve.

Thank you for the suggestions of salad stuff etc.

I know we won't starve, but tell that to the 3 males in the family - esp DH who is likely to just go out and spend on fast food if I haven't got stuff in to eat.!!

I'm planning to do some baking - twinks' hobnobs are a great favourite at home, and prob some other cake too.

Not sure if there will be any doggy bag stuff left at wedding, but if there is that would be great - although it is a sit down hot buffet meal.

I'd be wary of any mini bar... .

I may just take a cool box then, even if I buy a bag of ice for £1 for the last day.

I remember something like that happened once when we put something in minibar.

When you get to the room and there is a mini bar, dont open it. Go down to reception and ask for it to be emptied :) I always do this as it saves on a mis-charge between me and the hotel if ive moved something to fit in medication.
And take the lift to the top floor where the ice machine is often located if you want ice.

I would take crisps, fruit, cereal bars/flapjacks, pot noodles for over the weekend and some chicken and salad with crusty bread to eat when you arrive.

I normally take cereal and milk with me, along with a set of Ikea nesting bowls with lids and a couple of spoons. Instant brekkie. We sometimes get something from the supermarket like croissants to have with a cuppa in the morning. Take extra coffee and tea too as well as some biscuits etc that you can tuck into.

Find out if there are any supermarkets near to the Travelodge, as you can pick up food there too as well as taking it with you.

last time we went to a travellodge we took some things like this with us:

    loaf of bread
    crisps ( crisp sarnie)
    pringles,
cup-a-soups (had bread to dip in)

    hot cross buns,
    flapjacks,
    little bags of popcorn,
    donoughts,
    bananas & oranges,

we got fish n chips out one day & pizza`s from the travellodge another day,
also went to a bakery one day,

just get whatever you usually eat as snacks and that will be fine,

Cheese & crackers - slice the cheese before you leave home, or take a knife.
Cold cooked cocktail sausages are a good snack/breakfast/lunch
    Crisps or nuts
Apples, bananas, oranges, grapes, plums. Any "handheld" fruit that doesn't require chopping/peeling with a knife
    Flapjacks, muffins, biscuits for breakfast.
Anything that can be made with hot water - cup a soup, pot noodle etc

A coolbag will only keep things cold for so long. Don't forget to take the necessary plates, cutlery etc that you might need. A tea towel might be handy too. You can wash plates with shower gel. There shouls be cups, tea, coffee etc in the room.

Aldi do individually wrapped pain au raison which keep for a few weeks-called chinos or something like that-they would be good for breakfast along with cartons of juice.

You usually have to vacate the rooms by 12 so on the Sunday you will probably have to find somewhere else for lunch-you could find a supermarket and buy sandwiches for a picnic.

I always take extra tea and coffee-also fresh milk and a bottle of wine with a screw top.

Plastic plates are a good idea. I take a couple of J-cloths-they can be used as dishcloths and tea towels .

I've never come across a mini bar in a Travel Lodge-all you normally get is a kettle along with a few teabags and sachets of coffee and milk-ocasionally biscuits if you are lucky.
