Ebay postage costs??/

If you asked me for a reduction on my stated postal charge after bidding or buying, you would only buy that one item from me. I'd automatically add you to my blocked bidders list.
Now, if you were to buy several items, that's a different matter...0 -
well u shouldnt purchase it.When u put your bid on,you accept sellers T&Cs.
...just get on with it,you cant do anything and must not neg feedback either.
Not true at all. S/He can leave whatever feedback s/he likes.
When the item comes if it's well packaged then £9 is reasonable, if it's just stuffed into an old bag, it won't be.
Judge then.
If it's badly packed by all means leave negative feedback.0 -
I tend to reflect the postage costs in the stars, rarely if ever the feedback.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. That's true and probably right most of the time, but I just wanted to correct the misinformation being spread that you are restricted about leaving negative feedback.
If you bought something and it was chucked in an envelope with a 50p stamp and you were charged £1 for postage you wouldn't complain. But if you'd been charged £9, you would. On the other hand if it was beautifully packaged and wrapped you would not.
Ultimately the buyer is entitled to give negative feedback if he feels the buying experience was negative.0 -
Sorry I didn't mean to say I disagreed with you. Yes it is perfectly possible for a buyer to leave a negative for a seller that overcharges on post and packing. It doesn't have to be fair, it just has to be the buyers personal opinion.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. shoppaholic_returns wrote: »As a buyer and seller on ebay I am always aware of postage costs, and how some sellers are making alot of money by charging extortionate prices for their postage. I have recently won an item that is a very lightweight silk dress, the seller is asking £9 for postage:eek: , although this is for special delivery, the item is not particularly high value certainly well under £500 compensation and my postage rates info from royal mail looks like the costs to the seller are more like £5 for special delivery. Is there any comeback on this ie could I go to the seller and ask for the postage to be reduced? What do you think, hasnt there been something on ebay about unreasonable postage rates?? Thanks
When you look at prices you have to consider the postage as well. If you don't like the cost, you don't buy - simple as that. It's common practice to have a fixed price for postage - most retailers do this, so why not on eBay?0 -
There seems to be some misunderstanding with ebay in that people are FORCED to buy something they see, and likewise other people are FORCED to sell on there...<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

Just to add, customers don't like being overcharged for postage whatever the circumstances (even if you have to walk 15miles every day to the nearest post office and add an extra £3 per parcel to cover your shoe repair bill:rolleyes:). If you want repeat business (and not everyone does) you need a fair postage rate. There aren't many sellers who have inflated postage who do well especially in competitive markets..0 -
