just made a potato and leek bake to go with some sausages for tea
going to sit and surf now with a cup of tea0 -
Went shopping with DD(20) and she was amazed how much we got done in two hours.
She now has two nice dresses, a denim skirt and a cardi type top as well as a load of toiletries etc from Boots. We even had a cup of tea and a cake before DH picked us up.
She was quite shocked that I was able to browse round while she was trying things on, have several things in my hand for her to look at and try on - and she actually liked most of them and ended up buying them.
DH has had to go to dentist as the filling he got done last week has just dropped out.
Just about to go to library and take some books back so see you all later."This site is addictive!"

Afternoon all,
Its blinkin freezin out there and sooo windy, if it carries on like this the heating will have to back on for a couple of hours, that'll please OH....NOT;)
Shopping all done and WM finished again, just had a really nice lunch, beef sandwiches made with the last of the HM bread DIL made and brought with her on Saturday, I was surprised that it was'nt stale, and a big bowl of fresh fruit after.
Having chilli and spicy wedges for dinner tonight and yoghurts that the DGD's left yesterday, little stars fromage frais .... probably have 2 each as there is only about 1 spoonful in them
Talking of HM bread, the one she has ( M*****Rich****) when the bread comes out the paddle is still inside it, does'nt go too far in but when she cuts it out there is obviously a hole left, can anyone tell me if they are all like that
I quite fancy getting one but not sure
any advice/help gratefully received
(((hugs))) for anyone suffering, depressed, upset, lonely or just wanting a pair of arms wrapped around them xx

Hi all,
Sunny but very windy and cold here; a real change from the scorcher we had on Saturday.
Very stressed out about our Mortgage and this whole house buying business, can't wait for OH to get back roll on April 2nd.
OS today has been Kitchen swished and swiped this morn and DW emptied. Pittas and hummos for lunch and salad for tea i think. Caught up with ironing last night and will do a wash tonight, bed needs stripped and may do some more packing.
No other exciting chat I am afraid. Hope everyone is getting through their Monday ok.

Afternoon all
Phew!!! thank goodness finished at work for the day - really busy today and within 15 mins of me being there 3 people phoned in sick (when it is out of 11 of you that makes quite a difference) so was quite hectic - ah well over for now till tomorrow!
Had such a lovely day yest DD1 (24) cooked for us all at her house, - first time she has done a formal type dinner for people and she was amazingly good and very laid back about it all (perhaps due to the fact she had had friends round the night before and was perhaps a tad hung over still!!) It was such a nice treat. Hope the people who were not treat quite as nicely are feeling better today. ((((((Hugs)))))))
Weather is quite mad here today - extremely windy but one minute lashing with rain and then sunny and really quite warm. Thought last weeks good weather was too good to be true!!
Have quickly S & S living room and kitchen and have a huge pot of chilli bubbling away on cooker which will be served with either jacket potatoes or pancakes. Only problem is I have made lots so that I can freeze a couple of days portions but I really don't think I can get any more in either freezer!!! I think I will have to take chicken portions out which we are having tomorrow early so I can get some in.
Hope everyone is happy and well. Diva missed you posting yest - glad to hear you are feeling better today!
((((((Hugs)))))) and love to all - enjoy the rest of the day

Didn't post yesterday as it was a truly carp day for me, since my falling out with DD1 I haven't heard anything from her, DS supposedly forgot, but I did get a lovely card and some well thought out presents from DD2 (bought by her daddy). No breakfast in bed for me or even a cup of coffee.
XH texted me today as DD2 is at his house and she had told him that I didn't get anything from DS, he was not happy as he had bumped into DS in town on Saturday afternoon and reminded him that it was Mothers Day and asked him if he needed any money to buy me a present (so sweet considering DS is not his son) DS said he was okay and was going down his dad's to get some money later. So a huge conversation over this only for DS to wake up at lunchtime on Sunday saying he had forgotten and had no money anyway0 -
Wow it's quiet today, is every-one busy battening down the hatches?
Got to DD's today and the planks holding the tarpauline on the roof had blown off into next doors garden.
The roof should have been finished on Friday but the roofers mixed up the fibreglass resin all at once and it went hard before they could apply it, soooo it won't be finished untill tomorrow. Rang them and they put breeze blocks on to hold down the tarp.
I sent DD2 to bed, fed DGD, settled her down and managed to clean top bedroom, change bedding (brought that back with me and it's in WM) S&S kitchen, bathroom, and hallway. Did vacuming whilst DD had lunch, baby slept through the noise. I have never been one to tip-toe around a sleeping baby, I think it's making a rod for your own back.
DD didn't come home with me this afternon as she slept well this a.m. so DH and I went to Lidle and stocked up on store cupboard stuff. Thanks to NEAV9 :T I found the pork chops, 4 for £1.75p, popped into Morries and bought 2 huge joints of pork for £11.09. I've cut one up and is now slowly turning itself into a vat of pork curry, the smell is amazing.
Also got some YS shin of beef for £3.24 that's slow cooking with onions and will use for a plate pie.
Bought 2 packets of shortbread for 45p, cheaper than I can make it, I have some soft bananas so will make a banoffee. I found a good quick recipe somewhere on here, I think it was some-one asking for ideas on what to do with a tin of evap milk. I have a tin, God knows how that got in my cupboard.
Tomorrow DD1 is coming with M's day gift, she couldn't come here on Sunday as she is a Mum and DGD1 took her to the Theatre in Bath for M's Day. DGD is 15 and has saved her pocket money (helped by Nanny  )
I started typing 25mns ago so I expect the thread will have grown by now.
DIVA (((((((Hugs Hun ))))))))))
IVYLEAF, I do try have ME time, but seem to spend it with DD and DGDit's when I am happy.
Hope you're all safe and warm, Bbbrrrrrrrrrrrr it's getting cold.0 -
(((hugs))) to those having a hard time
Well, OS is happening here.....soup is simmering away and a load of washing is on. DS comes home from uni for a few days next week so am getting beddings washed in Fai*y for him as he has allergies.
Planning to go for a (slow) run at the common with DH and the dogs. We have to go virtually under cover of darkness until my fitness levels improve!! Have ordered the new Davina McColl DVD so that should keep me busy. I don't often use fitness DVDs but need to get myself fitter.
So- tea, when we get back, will be veg soup and then left over gammon and salad. + a big drink of lovely water
Some tidying up needs to happen tonight. I've fallen off the flylady wagon (about a month or 6 weeks ago) and I've really noticed it lately. It's getting me down so I'd better buck up and get back on board.
Ok all - hope you have a good evening.
W
ps - pen-pin - hope you have a more restful sleep tonight
WS - it's difficult when partners won't go to the dr. (((hugs)))0 -

just got in from work, still feeling rather low but your lovely posts are much appreciated so thankyou all. DS2 has apologised for 'forgetting' I told him how hurt I was - as Ravylesley said its not what you get its feeling that they care and value you. My friends at work couldn't believe that they were so thoughtless.
