Morning
Cold here as well this morning, it was nice and sunny earlier but very dull now.
The meeting between DGD's and our new DGS went really well yesterday, the girls had been warned to take it easy and be a bit quieter than normal as he is a bit shy.
We went over a bit later than them so he would'nt feel overwhelmed, but he took it all in his stride, which we were all really pleased about.:T
O he is soooo cute, and already he follows his Mummy and Daddy about.
He has been with them for 3 weeks tomorrow, and its as if he has always been there.:A Next step the adoption.
tru - a tooth abcess is soooo painful, are you a bit run down? enjoy your pamper days to the full and remember pamper days are for YOU not to run round after everyone else, anyway breathe deeply aaaaand relax
lilibet - O thats good at least he turned up,

I had a lovely Mothers Day, flowers, chocs and a lovely Sunday tea at their house from DS2 and DIL, and a moss and cane basket of miniature Daffodils and a HUGE tub of Tulips from DS1 and DIL, and lots of kisses and cuddles from DGD's and DGS.
WM finished doing its stuff so better go get it out, then we are off shopping for the 2 Mum's.
Have nice days all and (((HUGS))) for all in need today

Well its absolutely wild outside at the moment.I set off with YD and YS for YD's speech therapy session and we've had to return home as the rain was so bad the poor kids were dripping wet through before we even got to the end of the street! So clothes are all in drier and i've rung the therapist to explain our absence.YD will be going to school once the clothes and coats are dry.Crikey it will take a lot to make me go out again after that until school ending time
Taplady just read your post yesterday and you are much more patient than I would be as its not what I get for Mothers Day that I appreciate its more about being remembered and appreciated. So I'm just as happy with a kiss and love you mum as I am with a big bunch of flowers

i have done really well today i packed a hurried lunch to stop me from getting a fatty hot pork sandwich for lunch, i even made up an extra salad for tea tonight or for lunch tomorrow...
i have loads of house wrok to do, but that will have to wait until next week, as i have an essay due in next Tuesday, i will keep on top of the washing, and that is all...
tonight i will have to resist the urge to turn on the television, and will have to finish the two books that i eed to be reading, and get a plan started!!!! i have a book for a treat for when i have finished, i just need to resist for long enough to get the darn thing finished!!!!
i will have to do some batch cooking this week to lessen the amount of time i have to spend in the kitchen which should be helpful...

Good morning ((((((((Everyone)))))))))
It's a cold and very windy morning here and looks like the sky could open up with buckets of rain at any moment. I'm glad I got the "must do" laundry washed and dried yesterday. Today, putting away the dry clothes and ironing.
I've gotten off the moaning and my pity pot today thank goodness! I know that our eldest daughter here loves her "Ma" dearly and that's what counts. And the kidlets in the states and I are talking more these days and that's a good thing. Sorry for the poor me moan yesterday.
Our time at our DDs' was spent helping them sort and put things in the loft, cleaning out the garden and the downstairs room. They had packed a lot of things as they were buying a house last year and then the deal fell through. They also decided that there were certain things they no longer wanted but that were perfectly good so Dad and Ma came home with much more than we left with. Today will be sorting out those things and getting them put away.
The dishes are done and the kitchen cleaned again. We were both so tired yesterday that I cooked but just rinsed the crockery and pans and left them til today. Just to put them away now.
I'm hoping to get my daily cashback clicks done today along with any surveys that come in. Then I'd like to curl up on the sofa with a cuppa tea and a good book for a bit this afternoon. Of course Bree pup will attach herself to me but she's a nice little body warmer.
Tea tonight will be ??? I'll get that figured in a few minutes, I hope.
Sybil - I don't know if it's more economical or worth making the tea cakes at home. I did see a recipe that included plain flour and wholemeal flour. This is the Tea Cake Recipe from AllRecipes UK They do have fruit in them and very little sugar so I think they'd be a healthy brekkie for Little Bear. The recipe also has variations on traditional tea cakes that sound very good. From what I can find, they ought to freeze fine. Hope this helps.
(((((((((((((Extra Hugs)))))))))))))) for those who want and/or need them today.

Marie-So sorry to hear about the dog ,hugs to you all.
My Mothers Day started fairly late as neither son slept at home on Sat night.DS2 had left my card and pressie ready tho',then we all met up for a pub lunch along with DS1s fiancee, and which we all really enjoyed.Mind you,it was prob the novelty of someone else doing the cooking,as we havent eaten out since well before Xmas due to belt tightening
I sympathise with the mums who were disapointed yesterday-last year DS2 didnt even get me a card and it really hurt me.I think he felt a bit shown up tho when DS1 and his DF turned up with a lovely orchid in a pot and a big card, hence him being well prepared this year.DS1 has got a lot more thoughtful since being with her though.
Its lashing down here and sooo windy.I'd just found my washing line too
Lunch is mushroom soup, tea is beef casserole I think, with jackets.
Right better get on.xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
justpeyton4now - thank you for that link. It does sound like a good breakfast or snack (for a change) for little bear. And what a fantastic site, I shall be investigating further.
Weather here is silly. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that the roof stays on, as next door have a whole in their roof and the wind is blowing right into it :eek::eek:
Just about to go and put third lot of washing in.
Hugs to all.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Morning OS friends!
Sunny again today but ohhhhh so windy! Great day for drying the washing.
Sistercas - my council were the same, hence having to pay out £250 this week when the tree surgeons come to lop.
Tru - your fortnight sounds like it will be fab!
Pen-Pin - hope you feel better today
Lesley - wow four bunches of flowers, how wonderfully extravagant - I think that is lovely!
lillibet - big big hugs to you. My mother fell out with me and as my sister pretty much follows her lead in all things, I haven't been able to see my darling nephews for a year. They used to stay with me three weekends out of four and I miss them so much it's like a physical pain, so I can empathise just a little.
Tattycath - glad your DD saw how badly she was behaving.
Squiggly, taplady - you both have my sympathy, you deserve so much better, you are both such lovely people.
I guess my mother will have received the Mothering Sunday bouquet I sent her, but I guess I will never know. She didn't send me a card to say thank you for her Christmas present so not expecting anything. I don't know how many times you can say sorry to someone and ask them to forgive you and talk to you, and keep getting blanked but I think I am going for the record!
I couldn't post yesterday - I was missing my mother a lot and with Jade dying it just made me think of Tristan and the inevitable and I ended up a bit of a wet rag for an hour or so til my OH got back from visiting his mum. He made me feel better as ever and we went on to have a lovely roast dinner with the chicken from M & S, with the other half to have for dinner tonight.
I am having my hair cut this afternoon - a nice girl comes to the house. It needs cutting badly, it is half way down my back. I kept putting it off due to finances but decided it couldn't wait any longer and I deserve a treat.
With warm gentle hugsto everyone who needs or wants one - do something nice for yourself today.

Morning all,
Bit of a silent day here to-day....weather is wet and windy and I think cold.
Thanks for all the kind messages about Roxie...DD took DGS (he's 6) out to show her to him and he had a big cry but seems to have accepted it very well, no doubt we will hear many 'do you remember' stories over the next few weeks, but thankfully he seems to have realised that pets and people die and that sometimes it is not just because they are old.
Had lovely roast beef yesterday, think that there will be stir fry this evening as not sure that there is enough to do another roast dinner.
Talk later, hugs to all in need or want
