Morning everyone,
I've just done the meal plans for the week and after getting dressed I'm off to Mr T to do the food shop. Think we'll be having a late lunch today as I had a lye-in and with the clocks going forward, it was quite late when I ate my breakfast of peanut butter and jam on toast.
OH is still boarding the loft, and I expect that landing will be showered with sawdust by the time I get home again, even though I hoovered it yesterday. Will need to crack on with my lists when I get home, and also clean the car in case Lady Liberty would like a lift to the flylady meet. I've googled it, and it'll take me just over an hour to drive there - did think about the train, but it actually works out cheaper to drive, and that way I can get there and leave when I'm ready, and not risk being delayed by engineering work etc. I'm really looking forward to it - and the London meet. I was telling my Mum about the London one and how Rach would try and organise a walk, and she said that she'd like to come with me, but doesn't know if her toe joint operation will have healed in time.
Well I'd better stop typing, and start dressing - it's really cold here sitting in my nightie.
sexymouse xx
PS Valli who is sexy lexy from Grange Hill? I never watched it and can't seem to find any pictures of her?Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
I'm finally up ... not dressed yet... woke up much earlier but decided to finish my book instead of getting out of bed (well it won't distract me now!).
Being realistic about what I will achieve today, I need to concentrate on the tidying so that the cleaning can actually be done next week. So I'm aiming to get everything put away in the right place so that I can be organised and hopefully fit everything in for a change. I MUST get the exercise sorted out, as my training plan for my 20 mile walk starts tomorrow
Hellsbells - I've got lots of recipes. Simplest thing is to ask for recipes for specific things. I find that the more I use natural products, the more sensitive I am to other stuff. If you're looking for somewhere to bulk buy ingredients, try SummerNaturals. I suggest you also look to avoid chemicals in toiletries & cosmetics. There's some useful stuff on the green & ethical board.
Suggestions include - soapnuts for low-temp laundry (treat stains beforehand - scrubbing with a nailbrush and ordinary soap works perfectly well); soda crystals to soften water, vinegar instead of fabric conditioner. I use ecover washing powder and laundry bleach for hot washes/whites that need a bit of a boost. Also borax for stains.
Drains/plugholes - bicarb/salt/cream of tartar mix followed by boiling water (to freshen); or bicarb followed by vinegar then hot water (this also unblocks... but don't use after a normal drain cleaner as it'll react unpleasantly)
Remove marks/grease from floors - sprinkle with bicarb and wipe with a warm damp cloth
Vinegar-soaked cloths to descale taps
Microwave - either vinegar and water for 3-4 minutes, or water with some lemon slices, then wipe.
Very grubby oven - make a paste from 1 cup vinegar, 1/4 cup washing powder. Heat the oven to max for 5 mins then switch off. Spread paste on, concentrating on greasy areas. Leave for an hour, then scrape off with plastic spatula.
Keeping oven clean - wipe with vinegar after each use
Burned-on dirt in pans etc - either salt & boiling water then leave to cool, or bicarb & water and bring to the boil.
Stainless steel pans - equal parts bicarb, soda crystals & borax
Rust stains - cream of tartar & lemon juice
Loo - sprinkle with borax, then spray with vinegar. Leave for several hours. Scrub.
Castile soap for anything needing soap (e.g. washing up liquid)
Floors - add vinegar to a bucket of hot water
Deter pests with tea tree oil (flies, mice, whatever...)0 -
WM on
Lost an hour off an already slow morning, but I'm not complaining.
Just had a phone call from my elderly cousin. :j
I was just moaning to a friend last week that neither she nor her daughter ever phone me - it's always me making contact (and you start to wonder if they would notice if you didn't IYKWIM) so it was a lovely surprise to hear from her.
Now enjoying a :coffee: and hoping the sun stays out and the wind keeps away and I might risk the garden.0 -
Afternoon all
julie - did you look at organized home? I had a quick look, but only saw Easter gifts.
Did I just hear the news properly? We (the taxpayers) are paying for the Home Secretary's husband to watch !!!!!!???? !!!!!!!!!!
Right - the Flylady film...my Nan reckons I'm the double of Fizz from Coronation Street...I think its the frizzy hair lol. Also, there was someone in Emerdale but I cant remember her name.
LMAO at Jeanette Cranky :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Oh and disaster...I've run out of coffee     :eek:0 -
hello everyone!!:hello:
natty lovely to read your post but sorry to hear you are still having some pain allbeit self-inflicted:rolleyes: I know what you mean about missing the 'happy pills' so be very carfeul to always take them - they make such a difference. Regarding the meet - what about getting a mobile number from someone who is going to be there so when you arrive you can call them and they can come outside to meet you and that way you wont be going in alone? I am very shy too and find it extremely difficult to go into a place I have not been in before and so thats what i do and it works for me.
FFP you should be selling to cover the costs of the new 'wardrobe' :rotfl: :rotfl:
lil_me hope you are not too sore after your'bumps' last night - hope they get your tutor sorted out - it isnt fair on people not having the proper support.
SS supergirl - hope you have a lovely day out and I am looking forward to meeting Harry!!!! You read my mind - spooky -after all the talk of woofs yesterday I was going to ask if he was coming too!!!! I think I had better find the red carpet if Angelina is calling in!:rotfl:
rosepink good for you getting into walking - that will be very good for you - not just the exercise but the fresh air and sunshine(well hopefully)
83rachel thats a good idea about the stewarding - it is better to do something than have gaps on your CV - sounds like your LO is going to be a handful!!!
valli honey you are the best tonic anyone could wish for!!! I was psml first thing at your 'cast'!!!! If I could be anyone it would be Liv Tyler but I am nothing like her!!!!! I am probably nearer to Dawn French - but not near as funny but the shape is good!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: And would love to be like Julia Roberts and be transformed into a pretty woman!!!! BUt realistically I am a bit like that woman in Waiting For God (cant remember her name) a bit cranky/crotchety and senile!!!!
crafty morning aunty!!!! yes it was frosty here overnight too! I have friends and relations like that too- it gets tiresome after a while to be always the one making the effort
greenbee great list of suggestions there - and wasps dont like the smell of lemongrass! I am slowly trying to convert myself to being greener!!
TAG glad you are getting a little more sleep - hope it continues to improve
lovely sunny day but very cold - only about +5 at the moment i think and the wind is making it feel colder. have a washing out blowing nicely.
I woke up early but dozed off and didnt get up until 10:eek: which is annoying as I wanted to get into a good routine.
Lunch is calling so will be back later
toots xxPeace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

Afternoon everyone.
Had a bit of a lie in which was lovely.
Been out to get papers and shopping. As I was passing the furniture shop I saw a sofa I really liked. Went in and had a bit sit on it and the woman said have a lie down. So I did and looked up to see bemused passsers by looking. Made me really laugh wondering what they were thinking. Im very tempted as I have been thinking of a new one out of my lump sum.
Not sure who would play me in the Flylady film. Im 5ft nowt. salt and pepper hair. Blue eyes. A wicked sense of humour. Maybe some of you flyladies can think.
Lil_me Aww its lovely of you to worry. Over 33 years Ive been bitten, kicked, head butted etc the worst being a gash at the side of my eye from a flying video cassette. A sense of humour and patience helps. I know its not meant and I think the world of my clients. Just part of the job but now Im nearly 60 Im getting too old for it. Hope you are ok.
rosepink. Have sent you a PM.
Have done two loads of washing and want to do a bit in the living room today.0
