yes depends on what you want to do there, but 2 weeks is long enough if your visiting friends. expect to be jet lagged when you get back so if you get a day off work when you land just to sleep (which you will) then youll have a great time. and perth has lots to offer, from the commercial east coast. great beaches, perth city is a beautiful city, you must visit kings park in perth, and enjoythe stunning views over swan river and over the city.
the list can go on, obvioulsy you cant do it all, but yes you can do it.
    have a bonza time!

    I say go for it!

I'm not sure about the flight times to Perth, but when we fly to Melbourne, I prefer to take the lunchtime departure, arriving in Melbourne in the evening the next day. You don't get much sleep on the plane anyway and this gives you a full night's sleep ready to get up and going the next day.

I then prefer the late night (midnight-ish) departure from Australia to arrive in the UK at lunchtime. By the time you get home etc, you again can get a good night's sleep ready for work the next day.

    Have a great time.

I am the General Manager of an hotel in Telford and am happy to offer advice. I can't promise to be perfect, but I'm happy to try to help.

I have a couple of weeks off work in June and not having booked anything yet we were talking about where to go. Having canceled plans to go to Oz last year due to the loss of my job we wondered if we could afford it this year.

Looking at flights I can get return flights for £570 each, ridiculously cheap! Do you think 2 weeks is long enough to do it justice? I am not in the position to get 3 weeks together.

I would be staying with a friend so comparing that to say, a week in London, I would be paying the same for a 4 star hotel and return flights. It may be the last chance I get for a long time so what do you think?

Can I ask where you found such bargin flights?! The cheapest ones I've seen are about £700!

Royal Brunei air is probably the cheapest, but isn't recommended.

  • I went to Australia 2 years ago and stayed with a friend for a month. However long you stay will never be long enough and you are sure to want to go back to travel further and see more. Seems to me you should grab the chance to go now as flights are so cheap but if you can manage to go for a bit longer do as I was jet lagged when I got there and perfectly normal on the return.

    Have a great time.:j

Just thought if it is Perth you are going to 2 weeks should be enough as it is a long way from anywhere else.
And for those who complain about people who say to do justice to Australia you need a long time you need to consider that it is not like visiting one European country but rather the whole of Europe and part of Asia or the whole of the USA in one holiday.

There have been loads of cheap flights to Australia lately. To the east coast, I have seen £500 popping up regularly. 15th April - 30th June is considered 'low season' for flights to Australia.

Not sure what's still on sale now, but check out the airlines websites and see what you can find!

And to th OP.....2 weeks is still long enough to have a fab holiday.....you won't see everything, but you already know that! It's definately still worth going, and not a bad time of year to be visiting either!

    Cheers,

I say go for it, and consider flying Emirates via Dubai with a short 1 or 2 day stopover to easy the jetlag in one direction. Wife and I are hoping to be in the Perth area next Feb for a family reunion, so let us know how you get on please!
