Startopia is a good game i used to love playing it. You have your own space station or you might like something like roller coaster tycoon unless the roller coaster crashes

Sounds like the game for me as well.
Is it a free download and will it work on XP Home?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
What startopia? You might be able to pick it up for 5 pounds in game or pcworld http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sold-Out-Software-Startopia-PC/dp/B0009X788U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1237749197&sr=8-10

Thanks for all the suggestions. Just to make it clear, I already play games you can play at home alone (like the Sims) but wanted to take part in an interactive, fantasy role playing game, which did not involve me actually killing anything. (I have no problem with the other virtual players wiping each other out).
As I want an element of fantasy, magic or sci-fi, that rules out Second Life type games etc. I think there must be a gap in the market here. Computer Games now outsell CDs in some cases, yet the fantasy playing games are nearly all based on sex and violence and killing - when games first started my husband had a lot of adventure quest games where logic and accumulating artefacts to get you out of trouble were an important part and killing less so. The pendulum seems to have swung.
I think there must be real scope to introduce characters for non violent types to participate in role playing games as sages, gurus, wisemen, wisewomen, diplomats, medicine men, wizards, codebreakers etc without killing anyone. More like a role playing version of Star Trek I suppose where it is not seen as necessary for Captain Janeaway to make her way across the universe chopping off heads!
Thanks for all the suggestions. Any more please keep them coming. Meanwhile I shall investigate runescape and report back.0 -
Wow, sounds like the worlds most boring computer game (might be a bit like Second life then in some respects).
You cannot have a hero without a villain. You cannot have an adventure without peril. This proposed 'safe' game might be especially dull. That's probably why no one is making such a game0 -
Football Manager OnlineIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0

My O/H plays Eve. Apparently it's affectionately known as 'Excel Online'
He spends a good deal of time having his ship attacked, I'm not sure how easy it is to avoid that stuff. But I've heard you can go mining space rocks for hours and hours if that's your thing...My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0
